Dear Family of Missionaries and Sisters of Mission Peru Piura,

First of all we want to tell you that the missionaries and sisters, who are in the field of Mission Peru Piura are well in health, with energy and love and that we are happy to be next to them and be part of this wonderful work.

As many of you already know through the news of the Church, The First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, have been concerned about the health and safety of missionaries and those to whom they share, teach and carry the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. Therefore, they have recommended, make adjustments to the missionary service, as soon as local circumstances allow, and described below.
All foreign missionaries will return to their country of origin, where they will have a period of temporary isolation for 14 days and subsequently be reassigned by the Missionary Department or relieved according to the following guidelines:
• Missionaries returning to the United States and Canada will be honorably relieved or reassigned according to their service time:
o Elders who have 180 days or less to finish their mission, will be relieved.
o Elders who have more than 180 days to finish their mission, will be reassigned to a mission in their country.
o Sisters who have 90 days or less to finish their mission, will be relieved.
o Sisters who have more than 90 days to finish their mission, will be reassigned to a mission in your country.
• Missionaries returning to their country of origin, with the exception of the United States and Canada, will be reassigned to a mission in their country to complete their missionary service time.
• Peruvian missionaries will continue their mission service time normally.

These changes will be made as soon as the conditions and restrictions of the Peruvian government allow, as in the country of destination of each missionary or sister. Due to the safety of each of them, they will only leave the country when they have their full itinerary; that is to the final airport.

The Perú Piura Mission will work closely with the Travel Department of the Area and will inform each of you in a timely manner of the travel plan and return to your country of origin. For now we request your understanding, patience and help as this will require effort and time.

Please remind your children (a) s the responsibility to remain "... disciple (s) of Jesus Christ, the son of God. (Y) who has been called upon by him to declare the word among those of his people, so that they may reach their life " 3 Nephi 5:13.

With love,

President and Sister Vega

Dear Family of the Missionaries from Peru Piura Mission,

First off, we would like to say that all the missionaries here in Piura are in good health, with energy and love and we are happy to be among them and be part of this marvelous work.

As many of you already know due to Church News, the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles have been worried about the health and safety of the missionaries and those that they share with, teach, and bring to the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. Due to this, they have recommended that adjustments in missionary service as soon as the local circumstances permit. They will be described below.

Every foreign missionary will return to their home country. They will all have a period of 14 day period of quarantine and will be reassigned later or released according to the following guidelines:
• Missionaries returning to the United States and Canada will be honorably released or reassigned according to their time of service:
o Elders with 180 days or fewer left to finish their mission, when leaving Peru, will be honorably released.
o Elders with more than 180 days left to finish their mission, when leaving Peru, will be reassigned to a mission in their home country.
o Sisters with 90 days or fewer left to finish their mission, when leaving Peru, will be honorably released.
o Sisters with more than 90 days left to finish their mission, when leaving Peru, will be reassigned to a mission in their home country.
• Missionaries returning to their home country, excepting the United States and Canada, will be reassigned to a mission in their home country to complete their missional service as scheduled.
• Peruvian missionaries will continue to serve with us.

These changes will be taking place as soon as government conditions and restrictions allow, both in our country (Peru) and in each missionary’s home country. To keep the missionaries safe, they will only be able to leave the country when we have their complete itinerary. They will be flying home to the closest airport to you. This will take time and we appreciate your patience and understanding.

The Piura, Peru Mission will work in strict collaboration with the Area Travel Department and will inform each of you about the travel plan and trip home to the missionary’s home country. For now, we ask for your understanding, patience, and help now that this will demand a lot of time and effort.

Please remind your sons and daughters of their responsibility to keep being “…disciple(s) of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. (And ) have been called of him to declare his word among his people, that they might have everlasting life.”

With great love and deep appreciation,

President and Sister Vega
