hi mom! i dont have too much time but this week i got my travel itinerary! im pretty excited!
the week was pretty good! we got a new car! a 2017 chevy malibu! we still have to share it but its super nice.
but really the only thing i have thought of like i said is some clothes but i think i would want to pick those out.
but some music i did think of.
The story so far self titled album. im not really sure if thats what it is called. it came out while i was out. but i think thats what i thought i heard it was called.
blink-182 self titled album
and an album from the wonder years called "the greatest generation"
but i think really the things i would want would be to help me get on my feet like a laptop and a phone.
i have talked with jerry about laptops a little bit and it seemed like the kind that would be best for me would be a mac but i know those are really expensive so im not sure
so i should get going for now. love you! thanks for all you do! oh so soon would it be at all possible for me to get some money? im going to have to start sending some stuff home soon. i have a lot of stuff and want to make sure i can get it all home. thank you!

Hello Elder Olsen!!
How are things in the fine Arkansas Bentonville Mission and in particular in Grove, OK? Tell me about the best experience that you have had this week. What was the most challenging? How is the work? How are you?
We finally hard some colder weather here. It was 73 degrees on Tuesday and then it snowed on Wednesday night and we had our first frost on Thursday night. We broke all kinds of weather records here for the warmest day and the longest time without a frost. It's all good though we need to have more snow this year than we have had the last few years. It's good except that I am freezing!!
Dad and I went to tithing settlement yesterday and we got your record of what you have paid. I was a little surprised that you had paid anything because I thought missionaries were tithing exempt. It was good that you paid some fast offerings though.
We moved the computer out of the dining room yesterday and put it in the Relief Society office. Not I that have ever really used it as such but I do store a lot of the Relief Society stuff there. It will be nice to have a little more space in the dining area and not to have that desk there. I haven't gotten the desk all cleaned off yet but I will work on it this week. I don't think the chair at the desk is tall enough for me. We are trying to get all the bedrooms cleaned out and ready for when you come home and Phillip and Anna come out. I can't stand up for very long so it is a bit of a challenge but it will be nice to have it all done. I wanted to do all of this before I had my surgery but I ran out of time.
I think Dad would like to start putting up some Christmas decorations this week. He wanted the tree in the front room up before Thanksgiving but I don't see that happening at all. Maybe the day after or something like that.
Speaking of Thanksgiving do you know where you will have dinner that day? Ryan and Carolyn won't be here this year because they are going to Hurricane. A lot of Carolyn's family will be at her Mother's house this year. Jeremy, Hilary and Robert will be here. That is who is coming to dinner today also because Carolyn's brother had a baby and he was blessed today so they went there.
My week has been a little bit stressful. I have had too much to do and had to plan and present two presentations for the training that we had on Saturday. I ended up having to work at home for most of the day on Friday in order to get everything done. It all went well though and I think that everyone came away with some good ideas.
Our Ward Christmas Party is on December 2nd this year. We always have it really early in December. It has even been on your birthday before. The Ward Council is planning and organizing the whole thing this year but I am not going to be able to go. I am having the screws taken out of my toes that day and I don't think I will be up to going. I was in charge of arranging the caterer that tried to cancel on us. Apparently I didn't sound very excited about that fact and she changed her mind and will be catering the dinner for us after all. YAY!! That is cool that you get to go to your Ward's Christmas party before you come home.
I heard that your mission isn't doing a Christmas get together this year like they did last year. You probably would have missed it anyway.
I had a short meeting with the Bishop before Ward Council today to discuss a situation in the ward and when I was coming out Brother Preston asked me if I wanted to get my recommend renewed while I was in there. He said that Mine, Dad's and your's all expire this month. After chatting a minute I realized that mine and dad's don't because they expire next month but your's will expire this month. I then realized that you want to go to Elder Jensen's wedding on December 17th and your recommend will expire before that. Bishop suggested that you see if your Mission President can give you a new one. He said that sometimes now they give temporary ones that are good for three months then you will have some time to get a new one from the Bishop and Stake President when you have more time. When Jeremy, Ryan and Phillip served their missions the Mission President just renewed their recommends before they came home. I guess times change.
Have you thought anymore about what you might like for your Birthday and Christmas? Let me know if you think of anything.
Maybe you already know this but the UTES lost yesterday. It was pretty sad. Dad and I didn't go out to Jeremy's to watch the game because we had tithing settlement but they lost when Oregon scored a touchdown in the last 2 seconds of the game. It crushed their hopes of going to the Rose Bowl. Dad and I are hoping there are some bowl games on when Phillip is here. It would be fun to watch one all together as a family and do the whole football food thing. We will have to see what all the schedules bring.
We talked about Sacrament Meeting topics in the month of December and I suggested that we focus on the Church's Christmas initiative of Light the World. Everyone seemed to really like it and so we are also going to encourage everyone to do acts of service and to post them anonymously on the board in the Church House. I hope it turns out well. The worldwide day of service is on your birthday which is so cool!!
My scripture today is 3 Nephi 27:9, 10.
9 Verily I say unto you, that ye are built upon my gospel; therefore ye shall call whatsoever things ye do call, in my name; therefore if ye call upon the Father, for the church, if it be in my name the Father will hear you;
10 And if it so be that the church is built upon my gospel then will the Father show forth his own works in it.
Well I guess I better go for now. Take good care of yourself, work hard, stay focused and finish strong!!
