My Joy is Full

nah just one for elder gehring. his dad bought me a hoodie for my birthday so ive already got another one coming! oh yeah so denise dropped us this week. she was so close! but she talked to her preacher and then she told us she didnt want to talk to us anymore. but thats ok! we have a new investigator coming out of the wood work! his name is spencer. he is dating one of the laurels in the ward, but we had a restoration lesson and it was really strong. we taught it at the members home and it went really well. in all honesty i think he will be baptized soon. he is a really good kid. our ward mission leader is a teacher at a highschool in a town we cover called vinita and spencer goes there and brother mallard said if only i knew the difference in this kid. he has apparently changed a lot. so were pretty excited about that!

oh yeah so our ward had a halloween activity but we were at the temple so we werent able to attend the activity but hey i still had a blast!

oh yes i did get the package. thank you! you are the best!

anyways, i need to get going. love you!

Happy Halloween!!

I forgot to tell you that I went to the dentist this week. Dr. Taylor always asks about you and how you are doing. I also made an appointment for you when you get back. That will be on the 29th.

I also know that your investigators name is Denise and not Danielle. I couldn't remember when I was typing your letter and I was going to go back and check but I forgot. This morning as I was sleeping I remembered that it was Denise. I still hope she is doing well.

Have a great day!!

I love you!!

Hello Elder Olsen!!
How has your week been? How is the work? I have been praying for your investigator, Danielle. I hope she is doing well. How is the ward? When do you have transfers again? It seems to me that you just had them but it might be coming up again in a week or so. I checked on your ties and they were still in China so who knows if or when you will get them. They weren't very expensive so I won't worry to much if you don't get them.

I have a question about the hoodie for Elder Gehring. I thought you meant that you wanted me to order one for him but Dad thought that you wanted one also. I can get one for each of you if you want just let me know. It didn't seem to me to be the sport that you would want so I didn't know.

Did you get the package that we sent? It was supposed to have been delivered on Saturday. Do you have any plans for Halloween? You probably have to stay inside your apartment. That is what they usually do here. The Sister Missionaries had permission to come to our truck or treat one year and they liked that. I have seen a lot of pictures of the Missionaries in your Mission at their Ward's Halloween activities. Has your ward had any and did you get to go?

We are watching the World Series and it isn't looking to great for the Cubs. They are down 3 games to 1 but they are currently ahead by 1 point at the bottom of the 7th. I guess we will see. The Utes lost to Washington yesterday which was very sad but it was a really close good game. They still moved up in the polls so that was pretty good. I think that is because Washington is such a good team.

I have been able to walk without crutches since Wednesday. My leg, knee and ankle are pretty weak so I don't feel very stable but at least I am walking. I can only stand or walk for short periods of time but that's okay. It will just take some time I am sure. I was able to go and visit some sisters this week with my Relief Society presidency. It was great to be able to do that again. I have really missed being able to do that. I really feel that we need to be visiting them whenever possible.

I called Christian for his Birthday last Thursday. He is so cute to talk to!! Phillip was working so I didn't get to talk to him but I talked to Anna for awhile. I think that might come out when you get home. The kids get out of school on December 16th so they would drive out on the 17th. That would be fun if they could come out.

I saw Jason's mom again today and she was telling me all about the plans you have with Jason. She is so cute I love to talk to her.

Do you still hear from Jesus and how is he doing?

Lucas put on his costume for us tonight because he isn't going to come out tomorrow night. I guess Ryan's and Carolyn's neighbor's have hot dogs in their drive way and everyone gathers there and passes out candy. It sounds kind of fun. Anyway, Lucas' costume is a monkey. I will send some of the pictures that I took. He's pretty cute.

I am teaching Relief Society next Sunday and I have already decided what I am going to teach on. I have decided to teach on Joy. There were a few talks on that subject in General Conference. I am not going to use those talks though because Bishop already has them scheduled for the Teachings for our Times lesson. The scripture I want to share with you is one that I will use in my lesson on Sunday. It is 3 Nephi 17:17-20.

17 And no tongue can speak, neither can there be written by any man, neither can the hearts of men conceive so great and marvelous things as we both saw and heard Jesus speak; and no one can conceive of the joy which filled our souls at the time we heard him pray for us unto the Father.
18 And it came to pass that when Jesus had made an end of praying unto the Father, he arose; but so great was the joy of the multitude that they were overcome.
19 And it came to pass that Jesus spake unto them, and bade them arise.
20 And they arose from the earth, and he said unto them: Blessed are ye because of your faith. And now behold, my joy is full.

I love how faith and joy are tied together in this scripture!!
I pray for you everyday and hope all is going well for you. Take care of yourself, stay focused, work hard and finish strong!!

I will love you forever!!
Mom
