I Can Walk!!

so im not sure if i mentioned this, but we are indeed working with someone! her name is denise and she is a baptist but is open and willing to listen to us. we had a really intense lesson with her on saturday. we invited her to be baptized and she said no and told us of her concern. which was not wanting to change religions. we then asked her if christs church that he organized while on the earth were here if she would want to be a part of it, she said yes. we then bore testimony that this is christs church and committed her to pray and ask if this is what we say it is and then promised her that this said prayer would be one of her most important prayers shes ever offered. we have a return appointment for thursday, so keep her in your prayers please.

the weather here has been pretty warm too. still havent really experienced fall yet. the leaves are just barely starting to change and fall.

so all i hear about this voting season from everyone out here are personal shots at the other person. could you inform me on each of their stances on things they want done rather than just taking shots at their person? then i think i could make a decision. thank you! maybe you could get hilary to email that for me?

but hey that is great that you can walk again! im glad to hear it!

and thank you for allowing elder gehring to stay with us for a bit! were both pretty excited about this!

anyways, ill get going for now. thank you! and yes, i am LOVING my mission. oh and also, everytime i take a tag picture it just turns out terribly. i am trying though!

love you!

Hello to my favorite Elder!!

How are you this week? How is the work? Are you working with anyone? Tell me everything that has been happening with you. I really do want to know.

I ordered your ties and after I send to order I saw that they are shipping from China and they are scheduled to be delivered between November 14th and December 6th. I have ordered things with delivery dates that were out really far like that and they got here much faster than that and it has already shipped. I hope that happens with your ties just in case you are transferred at your next transfer date. It could happen you know.

Dad and I talked about having Elder Gehring come and live with us for a few months after you get home and he is welcome to come. I think it will be nice for you to have someone from your mission to hang out with once you get home.

I have been cleared to walk now. I am having some difficultly with it however and I am hoping to build my strength up. My muscles and bones have gotten weak and it will take some time to build it back up. I am still using my crutches when it gets too painful. It is getting better everyday some I am hoping that in a few days it will be much better. Interestingly my knee is one of the things that is bothering me the most. I think it must be from the knee chair. Todd Rytting said that the trouble with his hips started when he broke his foot and used a knee chair. They do tend to hurt both your knee and hip but they are so much easier that crutches.

Everyone came over here yesterday to watch the UTES beat UCLA. It was a really good game to watch. Phillip and his kids were lucky enough to actually get to go to the game live!! Anna and Logan didn't go because Logan was invited to a birthday party of a little girl that he has a crush on and he chose to go to that so Anna stayed with him and took him to that.

The weather here is still pretty warm and it seems so strange that it is the end of October. We still haven't had a frost and so we were still getting stuff out of the garden. Dad pulled everything out of the garden at the church though because they turned the water off anyway. I am sure that it will be freezing soon. We do have some frost on the car windows and the roof tops in the mornings even though no plants have frozen yet.

I will be sending you a package this week hopefully. I will include your voting ballot with it so if you want to vote you can. Just FYI Hillary Clinton is from Arkansas but maybe you knew that. Is there anything that you need or want to send to you?

I never see the missionaries in our ward anymore. We don't even have a feed the missionaries sign up list up anymore. I think we probably only get to feed them every twelve weeks or so. I am hoping to get to feed the Elder from England while he is here. I will for sure make Curry!! Now that I am able to walk again I will start signing up for them again. I think I really only missed one time that we were asked to feed them.

Hilary changed the reservations for Monday the 19th at I think 6 pm. I think that should work out for everyone and if Phillip and his family come out they should be here then too. Phillip told Jeremy that they are planning on coming out on the 17th but I still haven't heard that from them yet so we will have to see if they make it or not. It's a scary time of year to drive in.

Did you hear that the Chicago Cubs made it to the World Series? I am pretty excited about it. It will be fun to see them play in the series because they haven't been in the series since the 40's so it's been a long time. I think the last time they won it was in 1908.

I hope everything is going well for you and you are still enjoying your mission. I pray for you always and miss you all the time but I am also very glad that you chose to serve a mission. You have done an amazing job and have grown so much. Stay focused on the things on the work and finish strong. There are still people for you to reach and find.

Remember to send me a tag picture!! I see them all the time on the Missionary Mommas page. The next time you want to take a picture of a landscape just put your tag in the picture. Smile

The scripture I want to share with you is found in 3 Nephi 15:9.

9 Behold, I am the law, and the light. Look unto me, and endure to the end, and ye shall live; for unto him that endureth to the end will I give eternal life.

I will love you forever
