i dont have a lot to say today, i got elder hill thursday and im really excited for this transfer. he is a way good kid. one of the best. he was trained in fort scott kansas which is the area that elder lopez turned around and so he has a work ethic of being as busy as possible all day every day so that will be good for me.

Check again I wrote you an email.
Hello Elder Olsen!!
How are you? Tell me all about Elder Hill. Where is he from? How long has he been out? Do you get along with him? Where has he served?
Were you able to watch Conference? Where did you watch it? What was your favorite talk? I really liked Elder Cook's talk and of course Elder Bednar's talk. Elder Bednar is one of my favorites because he also seems to have such insights into the doctrine that I just don't ever see or think of. I really liked the talk that one just after his but I can't remember his name. It was the one about the doctrine of Christ. I felt the spirit so strong during the Saturday afternoon session. I think it was the MTC choir that brought the spirit so strong. I really love missionaries!! I thought about you a lot and even though I miss you terribly I am so glad that you chose to serve a mission. You are a great missionary as I knew that you would be.
I saw a picture on Facebook of Elder Gehring at Sister Jones' house watching Conference. She is the lady that got me accepted to the Arkansas Bentonville Facebook page. She is the one that knows the people I know. She takes really good care of the missionaries that serve there so Elder Gehring will be well taken care of. That is the area that I always wanted you to serve in. Oh well, you've had some really great areas. The other people that I know that live there are Bruce and Chris Westwood and Tim and Carolyn Dugdale. So have Elder Gehring tell them hello for me if he sees them.
I am still non-weight bearing but that should change on Thursday!! I am very excited in some ways but a little concerned in some other ways. My foot doesn't really hurt anymore but then I don't put any weight on it so I guess we will see. It does feel sort of strange but I think it has been through a lot of trauma. I don't really do anything but go to work. I have only been to one store since before my surgery. I guess I do go to church also so that is good. We actually had a ward BBQ on Friday that Dad and I went to. There is a guy in our ward who makes amazing BBQ. He lives across the street from the Krauels. He doesn't come to church except to the chili cook off and he is always willing to smoke some meat for us. He smoked some pork that was so good!! I wasn't able to chat with him about how he does it because my knee chair doesn't work on grass very well . It was all I could do to just get to the table and sit down. I will have to ask more questions to see what I can find out. Dad smoked a Oklahoma Brisket today but we didn't start it early enough I guess. We cooked it for as long as the recipe said and that was six hours but I think it needed at least another 2 hours to get tender. It tasted really good though. It was just still kind of tough. We will get this figured out someday.
The weather has been warm here again but is changing right now. It just started to rain. We are supposed have quite a bit of snow this week in the mountains which will be a good thing. We really need to have a really good snow year this year because we haven't had hardly any for the past two years.
Joseph Farnworth sang in the MTC choir for Conference. They showed him quite a bit. If I had known when I emailed you last week I would have told you to watch for him. Melissa got the results back from her tests and she started chemo on Friday. She has lymphoma in her neck chest and abdomen. There isn't any cancer in her bones or any organs so that is really good. They think she will do really well with the treatment and that it should take care of it. I am so relieved for her. I was really scared for awhile as was everyone.
Jeremy just told me that he is going to California on Sunday to go to the Rams and Bills game with Phillip. It sounds pretty fun. I knew that they had talked about it but last time I asked Jeremy he couldn't get any tickets. It seems he found some. He is just going for the day so he is flying in and out on Sunday. Maybe we will have to try to watch that game. Jeremy is a Rams fan and Phil is a Bills fan so that should be interesting. One of them will be happy in the end anyway.
The scripture I want to share with you this week is Alma 32:28. I really like the whole chapter but I am only going to print this one verse.
28 Now, we will compare the word unto a seed. Now, if ye give place, that a seed may be planted in your heart, behold, if it be a true seed, or a good seed, if ye do not cast it out by your unbelief, that ye will resist the Spirit of the Lord, behold, it will begin to swell within your breasts; and when you feel these swelling motions, ye will begin to say within yourselves—It must needs be that this is a good seed, or that the word is good, for it beginneth to enlarge my soul; yea, it beginneth to enlighten my understanding, yea, it beginneth to be delicious to me.
Take care of yourself, work hard, find joy in your mission, stay focused and finish strong!!
