Just Another Day(or week)

so most of the exciting stuff was in my weekly email! so thats how things are going! things are looking up!

so yeah we got a lot of rain just after we lost the car. made it really hard to be motivated to work. but we did.

also, i dont know if you remember mike cash from fort smith. the recent convert who is just my favorite person basically. ive been in contact with elder gehring and he says everything that can go wrong in mikes life is. so if you could pray for him that would be great! elder gehring told me about a fast they were doing for him yesterday so i joined in on that. his wife left him and took their kid. she also got a couple of guys to beat him up as he was trying to get his kid out of the environment cause it wasnt a good place for him. (alcohol and tobacco) and she is now pressing charges on him for assaulting her which he never did. but its 3 against 1 so things are not going well right now.

but yeah thats been it for me! i should head out soon. but i love you! i hope your foot gets feeling better!

Hello Elder Olsen!!
How is life in the great city of Grove, OK? I hope things are going well for you!! How is the work? Have you been having bad weather? I noticed on a football game that was being played in Oklahoma yesterday that the game had been delayed for a few hours due to weather. Are you still working hard?
Melissa Farnworth had some more really bad news this week. It seems that her cancer is spreading throughout her body and they found another lump in her neck. She goes in for a full body scan this week and a bone marrow test. After that they will determine how bad it is and what the course of treatment should be. Please pray for her. It is really scary.
Today is Anna's birthday so if you get a chance maybe you could send a message to Phillip to wish her a happy birthday for you.
I went to the doctor this week and everything is healing well. I have a bone callus forming over the plate in my foot so that is a good thing. I also have good motion in my big toe. I do have to splint the 2nd and 3rd toes back to keep them from moving forward again and I have to work on the movement of those toes. I also have to do compression therapy to get rid of the swelling in my foot. I have to wrap my foot and calf in ace bandages tighter than is comfortable and leave it for 15 minutes. Not the most fun thing ever but I will survive. I also have to add additional week (hence the title of this email) to be non-weight bearing so now I have until October 6th before I can put any weight on my foot. I have decided that I am okay with it though because I think it would hurt to have to walk on it at this point.

The weather here cooled down some and we actually had a little rain. It was the first rain that we have had all summer so it was nice to have a little bit. I do like the summer time and hate to see it end but I am okay with it this year.
Lonnie called me yesterday. Dee told him about my surgery so he called to see how I am doing. He said I should have let him know I was having surgery and he would have come to visit me. I guess that is true but I just didn't want to tell a whole lot of people.
Dad and I took the Vette out for a drive yesterday and a guy at a stop light seemed to be quite impressed with it and kept talking about how nice it is. Then he asked dad if wanted to race. That was all well and fine except that there were cars in front of both of us. Silly boys.
Dad has been working at Snow Bird this week and I understand that they had their first snow storm. I am sure it is melted already but hey at least they had a little. Did I remember to tell you that Dad has decided to work for two more years? RESCO decided that couldn't afford to let him go and made him an offer he couldn't refuse.
Madison Ratcliff's homecoming was today. It was nice to hear from her. She gave a great talk about repentance (it was assigned by the Bishop). She said she is adjusting to being home a little bit better now so that is good.
The scripture that I want to share with you this week is Alma 5:14-15.
14 And now behold, I ask of you, my brethren of the church, have ye spiritually been born of God? Have ye received his image in your countenances? Have ye experienced this mighty change in your hearts?
15 Do ye exercise faith in the redemption of him whocreated you? Do you look forward with an eye of faith, and view this mortal body raised in immortality, and this corruption raised in incorruption, to stand before God to be judged according to the deeds which have been done in the mortal body?
Take care of yourself, be obedient, work hard, pray always and finish strong!!
I will love you forever
Mom
