yeah i heard about the earthquake but did not feel it. where did it hit? but people out in grove did feel it. we didnt though it was weird.
yeah ive met a fair amount of the ward members. the ward is old and retired out living on the lake. not much happens from them as far as misisonary work which definitely makes our jobs harder. but thats alright were going to work hard this week.
so yeah i knew elder lopez was going to be out here in the mission and so i told him he needed to come see me! hes been spending most of his time in wheaton out at the sherwoods with them but one night he texted me and asked for my address so i gave it to him and he showed up at our apartment. were like only an hour or so away so it wasnt too bad. he took us out to ice cream and just visited with us.
but yeah the record player is still in fort smith. we werent sure if that was like ours or if we were just borrowing it so figured it would be safe to leave it there. and yes elder gehring is still in fort smith. i miss that place a ton.
so my companion is elder ostler. he is form hamilton montana. he has been out almost 4 months. so he is overly eager to get the ward more involved. he is taking it too quick is the problem and offending a bunch of people in the ward. so its not going well with the ward. but we get along really well so thats good. i was his zone leader his first transfer. he was out in sallisaw oklahoma.
hey i need to get going. i love you! get feeling better! it all sounds pretty painful.

Hi Elder Olsen!!
How is everything in Oklahoma? Did you feel the earthquake? I heard that it was felt throughout your entire mission. Someone from Webb City that is by Joplin said that she felt it. I haven't heard much about it on the news for as big of an earthquake as it was that is a bit surprising. Do you know if anywhere had much damage?
I have a few more questions that I have been wondering about also. Do you still have your grill and do you still get to use it? What happened to the record player that you got while you where in Ft. Smith? Does Elder Gehring still have it there and is he going to keep it or leave it there when he is transferred. I guess I am assuming that he stayed in Ft. Smith. How is your new companion? Where is he from? Are you getting along with him? How is the work? Has the weather cooled down for you? We had a big cool down on today and it is supposed to be pretty cool tomorrow also and never get back up into the 90's again this year. When was Elder Lopez there? Was he there for a special reason or just visiting? It was nice that he came to visit you?
Madison Ratcliff comes home this week. I think it is on Thursday the 8th. It will be nice to see her again. Her home coming talk will be on the 18th because we have Regional Conference on the 11th. They had wanted to have it on the 11th because Cole will be here then but it didn't work out. We have another missionary leaving from our ward this month. Her name is Kelsie Bannon. She was baptized a little over a year ago when the sister missionaries were still in our ward. She went away to college and her mother moved out of the ward but she feels really comfortable and wants to leave from our ward so that is really cool.
Dee, Patsy and Merna came to visit me on Friday. It was so nice to see them. Carolyn and Lucas also came over when they were here. They all really loved playing with Lucas he is such a cute baby. They hadn't seen him since Hilary's wedding so he had changed quite a bit.
Melissa Farnworth is doing better and was at church today. It was good to see her. I had wanted to go see her Tuesday night and thought she would still be in the hospital but she got to go home that day so I sent my counselors over to see her. She was up and walking around and doing pretty good even then. Sister Cutler's heart procedure went well and they were able to open up the other artery to her heart. She is doing better all ready and was at church today. It was so good to see her. It's great to have everyone healing well.
It was my turn to teach Relief Society today but we got Sister Wilson to do it for us because I didn't want to teach sittiing down and it hurts my knee to stand on my knee chair for that long. It was pretty strange to miss a lesson. I have never missed my turn before. My counselors always do because General Conference and Stake Conference always seem to fall on their months to teach.
I went back to work this week and I made it!! I was pretty tired by the end of each day and my foot hurt and was pretty swollen by the end of the day but I managed to get through it. I was exhausted by Friday but hey I made it. This will be sort of a short week because tomorrow is a holiday so that will be better. We do have training on Saturday so I will have to get up really early for that.
Dad is working on the path but he ran out of the pavers that we used before and he can't find anymore like those. He thinks there is a place in Ogden that might have some so he is going to call them tomorrow to see if they do and if they are open.
The scripture I want to share with you today is from one of my most favorite Chapters in the Book of Mormon. It's from Ether 12 which is an amazing chapter. I might have shared this one with you before because I love it so much but it is always worth reading again. The whole chapter is so good but I just chose this scripture for today.
6 And now, I, Moroni, would speak somewhat concerning these things; I would show unto the world that faith is things which are hoped for and not seen; wherefore, dispute not because ye see not, for ye receive no witness until after the trial of your faith.
I am not really expecting you to email on Monday because of Labor Day but occasionally you surprised me and email from an alternate source.
Have you met very members of the ward yet? How is the ward?
Take care of yourself, listen to the spirit, obey the mission rules, pray always, work hard, stay focused and finish strong!! I love and miss you!!
