hey mom. yeah so my ankle is definitely not broken. (they x-rayed me) at first we definitely thought it was. within seconds it was massive and all just in one spot. it honestly looked like a bone was sticking out. not like sticking out of my skin but just poking out. it didnt even really hurt that bad. but yes i rolled my ankle playing basketball. my knees were feeling better than they had been. i jumped up and came down awkward on my ankle, heard a pop, and hit the floor. we took me up on stage and one of the guys who was there said "is there something in your sock?" "nope, thats my ankle.." so we looked at it and decided we should go to the hospital. i also didnt realize i was supposed to go to a clinic thing rather than the ER, which the missionary insurance doesnt cover. so i have to pay for it. they didnt make me pay for anything though, so i dont know if i need to go back or not.. but could you just put like 20$ on my card? there should be plenty on there still. i havent had to use it a ton. but so they told me not to put any weight on it for at least a week and to come back and see this one doctor guy there. i have officially decided against that though. the day after it happened i was on crutches at zone conference and couldnt put any weight on my ankle. elder lopez asked me if i had received a blessing and i hadnt at that time. so i got a blessing. that night we were on exchanges with the assistants and we were out and about up in bentonville street contacting and tracting and it was just way too hard on me. so i decided i was done with the crutches, so ive been exercising my ankle, elevating it, icing it, and slowly putting more weight on it. and im no longer on crutches, doesnt even hurt anymore. only hurts if something bumps it. but it doesnt hurt to put weight on it and the swelling has gone down a bunch. i think it all goes back to the blessing i got. so yeah its been quite a week.
but the work is really picking up still! the baptism is still good to go for this saturday so were really excited. and so are they! so yeah the work is progressing. while in the waiting room at the ER we were talking to this lady who doesnt have a church she attends and would like her family to start going to church and said we could come by, so she gave us her number and told us to text her. so we were really excited about that! it was really cool.
haha yeah president and sister loveland are really great people. when i went up to shake their hands on tuesday for mission leadership conference sister loveland told me how im the most requested missionary to be everyones companion. so i thought that was fun to hear that people do like me after all! ha it was a good time. anyways, ill get going for now. but im fine, and i will probably have a package headed your way this week as well. love you!

So, I had a phone call from President and Sister Loveland yesterday. What happened to your ankle? I think they thought it was from playing basketball. Sister Loveland said that it was a little unclear on exactly what happened but President Loveland said it was basketball. How is it feeling now? Do you feel like it might be broken? When do you go back to the doctor? I will keep you in my prayers. Sister Loveland said she told you to let her know if it feels any worse. Are you still able to do missionary work? I figure you have had some experience on crutches so it might not be too hard to adjust to crutches again for you.
I am working on your package right now. Hopefully we will get it in the mail tomorrow or the next day.
How is the work? Is the baptism is on track for this coming Saturday?
I had a fun Family History experience today. I had been doing some research about a line on my Dad's side. Anyway I got an email about someone in my family that needed temple work done and it happened to be on that same line. I reserved the temple work so I could do it and found some additional names that needed to have their names done. I also found a story about my great grandparents written by my grandmother that I didn't know existed. I don't know much about my grandmother at all so it was really fun to find something that she had written. I also realized that my great grandmother lived longer than my grandmother did. I have a cousin that might even remember her. That's Margie Aunt Thelma and Uncle Tom's daughter. I hope to be able to talk to her and see if she remembers her at all. My dad didn't talk to much about his parents or grandparents. I wish that I had been old enough to ask him questions about them. I do remember that he would show us where they lived which wasn't very far away from where our house was. I also remember finding their graves with him one time. I could tell that they were important people in his life.
We had the missionaries over for dinner again on Friday. I really like these Elders. They are just fun!! Joseph Farnworth came with them this time. He received his call this week. He has been called to serve in Samoa. I can't remember the exact mission but he leaves on August 24th so he doesn't have to long to wait.
Dad and I are going to see Phil and Anna and family the first weekend in July. We aren't staying too long because I don't have much time off and I am going to need them for when I have my surgery. We called Phil and Anna tonight and talked to them. It is always so great to talk to them and to see them. I will be glad when we get to go see them.
Dee called me with some very sad news. Mira has been diagnosed with Nasopharyngeal Cancer. It is where the throat and the nose meet. They think they found it pretty early which is pretty lucky because they don't usually find it until it is stage four. They are coming down tomorrow for some tests and surgery and will stage it then. Please pray for her. It is pretty scary for them and very sad especially after Chuck.
President and Sister Loveland said very nice things about you yesterday when I spoke with them. They said what a great missionary you are and that everyone really loves you. They seem to be very fond of you. It was good to talk to them. Sister Loveland told me that you told her that if she is going to post the picture of you ankle that maybe she should call me first. That was very thoughtful of you!! She also told me that you are very steady. I started thinking about that and that steadfast is another form of steady. Then I started thinking about scriptures with that word in them and I am sure you know the one I am going to share with you this week. You have shared it with me before. It is 2 Nephi 31:20
20 Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life.
We went to a fireside with John Bytheway tonight and he shared another great scripture that I want to share with you also. This is very much a Missionary scripture. D&C 123:12
12 For there are many yet on the earth among all sects, parties, and denominations, who are blinded by the subtle craftiness of men, whereby they lie in wait to deceive, and who are only kept from the truth because they know not where to find it
Well I guess I better go for now it is getting pretty late. Take care of yourself and stop playing basketball. Work hard and pray always. I don't think I'm going to get your package ready tonight so if there is anything else that you want let me know.
