I Dont Care What They Say About Me Anyways

Hey everyone! this week has been splendid! the works picking up and just all around life is turning out to be alright, dont you think? this past week really was solid and a lot is starting to happen. the wards getting better and more supportive and are starting to take us to see people with them! (which is how it should be rather than us taking them to go see people)

so nothing really sticks out this week. its all been a highlight. we did a lot of moving which was not the funnest thing ive ever done. but oh well i guess.

really cool experience actually now that i think about it. so theres this recent convert here who is deciding whether or not she should go inactive, nullify her baptism, or endure to the end. and as we are planning for her lesson that morning that were meeting with her, we decide to teach her about fasting instead of the lesson we had just spent like 10 minutes planning. but not only that, we decide to teach her the fundamentals of fasting, then set a date for her to fast about her concern and we would fast with her. neither me or elder gehring had ever done this before but it just came to us. so the lesson rolls around and she says the only day she could meet with us again/fast with us would be the following day so we say alright tonight after dinner text us what you are fasting for and we will begin our fast. so thats exactly how that happened. the following morning during my personal study i just randomly opened up my scriptures and found a couple verses (i will share at the end of the email what they were) and i thought of her situation as i was reading them, so we then have our lesson with her and during the lesson we share with her those verses. she then goes to tell us how she has felt during her fast and that she wants to stick with the church and that the scriptures we shared with her were the ones she read that morning as well. in the words of my previous companion elder jensen: "I dont believe in coincidences." it was a really solid lesson and i just could not believe what was all happening. but it turned out really well and was a great experience for everyone involved!

so yeah its just been a great week in general. oh yeah so just a quick funny story (funny at my expense) so we were teaching this part member family (the husband is not a member but will be shortly. the 18th to be exact!) but so we were teaching them about the word of wisdom and they just had a question about the "eat meat sparingly" part and just like what does that even mean? so then between the me and elder gehring we do a good job explaining that to her. and just out of nowhere i go all PETA up on it and say "yeah.. animals have feelings too." but like it was a really good lesson and the spirit was there so nobody really payed any attention to my stupid comments luckily! hahahah so thats our big joke now is how im a vegan and what not. #meatismurder

but yeah it was a great week!

so heres a verse from the good book of enos chapter 2 verse.. some of you may not have caught that, enos only has one chapter! (im hilarious i know) so its enos 1:15.

15 Wherefore, I knowing that the Lord God was able topreserve our records, I cried unto him continually, for he had said unto me: Whatsoever thing ye shall ask in faith, believing that ye shall receive in the name of Christ, ye shall receive it.

we had the faith she would get an answer, not just AN answer but THE answer, we put our faith in christ and it all worked out! fasting, prayer, and just faith in general is real everyone.

have a great week! i love you all!
