So we will just start out with a quick shout out to all you mothers out there! especially my mother! happy (late) mothers day! but to be fair its the only time i get to email so is it my fault this shout out is late? not really.
also, for those of you who dont know, the subject for this weeks email comes from the song "I Miss You" by, you guessed it, Blink 182. but ive gotten over it. mostly. i take solace in the fact that its not actually blink cause its the guy from alkaline trio and tom isnt there. and i take solace in the fact that, yes, last week i did call it a dream line up, but is it though? i would love to see all of those bands, but at the same show? i think the line up could be better. but maybe im just saying that cause im in denial about my feelings and maybe a little bitter about the subject, but in all honesty theres nothing i can do about so.. life moves on. sometimes you just gotta roll with the punches.
What a way to start off huh? so not much happened this week. it was a bit slower, but thats alright.
tuesday we had to go up to bentonville for MLC (Mission Leadership Conference??) something like that. and that took ALL day. and driving by one of my old areas to get there was a little weird. and on the plus side i got to go through fayetteville again and we all know how much i love that place.
really tho the rest of the week didnt really feel like much, its all been a blur. woo hoo! ok for those of you who got that reference, youre the man.
Friday got to have an interview with president which is always a blast. and i recall from last weeks email my father but not my father but my mission father (elder lopez) said in his group email that in his interview with sister loveland her prayer was basically life changing and at the end of that he put #goals. i find that very appropriate. that prayer was crazy. i dont really remember it but that is a good goal to have, is to be able to pray like sister loveland. #goals.
Saturday there was a baptism. theres this part member familly the previous set had been working with (the husband is not a member nor is the 8 year old daughter) and the 8 year old girl asked elder jensen to baptize her which was pretty neat. no, it does not count as a convert baptism, but is that what matters? no. he was able to help someone progress, thats what matters.
and then of course i wasnt able to get my mother anything for mothers day due to the fact that im broke most of the time, but i was able to bless her with my "presence" it was close enough at least. besides, who wouldnt love to be in my presence? im a catch!
so for the spiritual thought of the week im going to go with the well known, but still great verse from the book of alma chapter 56 verses 47 and 48.
47 Now they never had fought, yet they did not fear death; and they did think more upon the liberty of theirfathers than they did upon their lives; yea, they had been taught by their mothers, that if they did not doubt, God would deliver them.
48 And they rehearsed unto me the words of theirmothers, saying: We do not doubt our mothers knew it.
anyways, thats all ive got for the week. i love you all! stay sweet!
