A Day in a Life

the weather has been good. well, decent. its been exciting if that is what you are wondering. tuesday at around 12:30 AM we headed over to the church. our weather radio issued a tornado warning and so i checked outside and things were looking pretty intense. i went and woke up elder jensen, who somehow slept through the radio. no idea how haha but so i grabbed him and when we looked outside to check out the situation it was really calm. bad sign. so we grabbed our bags and bike helmets and went to the church. when we walked outside the sirens were going off. usually not the best sign. but the storm was moving really fast so we got to the church and about 10 minutes later it had blown over us. the storm itself was moving about 55 mph. but we stayed up cause there were still missionaries in the zone who were getting hit so we were in contact with them most of the night making sure they were ok. we finally got to bed about 2 in the morning. it was fun. friday we were weekly planning and the radio starting going off again for severe thunderstorms and all of a sudden it starting raining really hard and then we thought we saw hail. we definitely did. that was the biggest hail i had seen. maybe, i saw some big hail in cassville, but that was a while ago i dont remember if it was bigger. it was about the size of a penny. some places in fort smith reported about egg sized hail. crazy stuff. as soon as it started elder jensen went and moved our car under the car port so our car didnt get damaged. we had some members whos cars got hit pretty hard and are now covered in dents..

so i will be skyping home from the crawfords. i have no idea what time. maybe you could invite josh over too? itd be good to talk with him for a bit too. i dont have the details, but here is sister crawfords number: 972-849-7459. so we will work out with her the details and you and her can talk with each other. i already talked to her about giving her number to you so shes expecting to hear from you sometime this week. the crawfords are way cool! they have us over every sunday night, not for dinner, just every sunday night we go over there for the last half hour of the day and she makes us cookies and milk and its just a good time. there a way cool family that moved here from texas. so i think every time church will be out here will be 10. generally we only have 1 ward per building just cause we dont have as many members. but so were from 10-1. but it lines up perfect with when you are at church so it all works out.

spanish is coming along.. not very rapidly but oh well. were trying. we just got a referral for someone spanish so were a little nervous on how this will go. it might just mostly have to be the members doing the teaching.

anyways, thats about all for now. love you!

Hola!!

How are you? How is the Spanish coming? How has your weather been? I've seen lots of bad weather reports for area around you but not really sure how it has been right where you are? Hopefully it hasn't been too bad for you. It been kind of cold here still and tends to rain a lot on the weekends so we can't do too much outside. That's okay though because I've been pretty busy and haven't really had time to work in the yard anyway.

We had the missionaries over for dinner last night and our new Elder reminds me of you quite a bit. As a matter of fact when I walked into Sacrament meeting today he was sitting at the Sacrament table and I did a double take because he looked so much like you. It's not so much his facial features but your coloring is the same and his glasses are like yours and his haircut is like yours. He is a nice guy and I think you would like him. He has been out for 21 months and will be going home in August I think.

Do you have any idea when you will be able to call on Mother's Day? What time is your church these days? We have 9 o'clock church now so it's really great when I don't have extra meeting. Otherwise is doesn't make any difference I go at the same time and get home at the same time no matter what schedule we are on. It was great today Bishop cancelled Ward Council to set apart the new Primary Presidency. Sister Hew-len was released and Sister Spicer is the new Primary President with Sister Dougal and Sister Rogers as her counselors and Sister Shaw is her secretary.
I have to say I was surprised with Sister Rogers being called with her going through cancer treatments and everything. I am sure the Lord will bless her and help her to do this if that's what she is supposed to do. I was afraid that they would take someone from the Relief Society but they didn't.

I've had quite a busy week this week. I have been visiting quite a lot. I visited sisters Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday I had Stake Relief Society meeting. Friday Dee came down and we went to the Tulip Festival and then out to lunch at Market Street Grill. We took Jeremy with to lunch. It was fun to see her again and have someone to go to the Tulip Festival with. Friday night the Young Women had a spaghetti dinner fund raiser that we went to. They had a great turn out and I think they made lots of money for girls camp. I also went to see SIster Cutler after the spaghetti dinner. She was in the hospital because she had a procedure done on her heart. She has some blocked arteries and they put a stint in one of them. They wanted to put in 2 more but weren't able to. She is going back on May 11th and they are going to talk about trying to put the other two in. Saturday I had Learning Tree training in the morning and then tended Lucas in the afternoon while Ryan and Carolyn went to buy a new car. They bought a Chevrolet Volt and it is candy apple red. It's a nice looking car and Ryan is really excited about it. Anyway after that or during that I fed the missionaries and took dinner to the Cutlers. I was really happy when Ward Council was canceled today.

This week is Logan's birthday on Wednesday. I guess he is really into Minecraft stuff so I ordered him a minecraft shirt and an action figure from Amazon and I am having it shipped directly to him. I think it is cheaper that way, I also found a cute Star Wars birthday card that is for turning 7, I had to get him that because he is born on May the Fourth. Amy's birthday is also next Sunday, on May 8th.

Ryan and Carolyn finally get to move into their house this weekend. They are pretty excited to finally have a house. The moving house is kind of a pain however.

How do you like Fort Smith by now? Are you keeping busy? So I would really like to know about when you will call/skype on Mother's Day if you know. I am very excited to talk to you and to see you!!

Jake and JaNeal's baby is due this coming week. Did I tell you they are having a girl? They have such darling girls I can't wait to see her. I am sure she will be adorable.

Dad and I have tickets to Hale Center Theater tomorrow night. Last time we were so busy we forgot to go so this time we are pretty focused on making sure we go.

The scripture that I want to share with you today is one of my favorites and of course during this time of year when we are planting and things it reminds me of this scripture. It is Alma 32: 27-28. Of course there is a lot more also but I didn't want to sent you too much but it is a great chapter to read.
27 But behold, if ye will awake and arouse your faculties, even to an experiment upon my words, and exercise a particle of faith, yea, even if ye can no more than desire to believe, let this desire work in you, even until ye believe in a manner that ye can give place for a portion of my words.
28 Now, we will compare the word unto a seed. Now, if ye give place, that a seed may be planted in your heart, behold, if it be a true seed, or a good seed, if ye do not cast it out by your unbelief, that ye will resist the Spirit of the Lord, behold, it will begin to swell within your breasts; and when you feel these swelling motions, ye will begin to say within yourselves—It must needs be that this is a good seed, or that the word is good, for it beginneth to enlarge my soul; yea, it beginneth to enlighten my understanding, yea, it beginneth to be delicious to me.

Take care of yourself, send some pictures, let me know when you will call on Mother's Day, be obedient, pray always.

I'll love you forever
Mom
