Staying in Prairie Grove with Elder Thomas

so no i am not being transferred i am staying here and finishing up training elder thomas! but yes this transfer felt waay too fast. probably the fastest transfer ive had honestly. it was a good one though. not really looking forward to this next one... our district is going to be awesome and im way excited about that. and i love president loveland and all, but he is making some rules i really dont like. i know ill be ok. just a little frustrated about it is all. they start with the transfer. so yeah. but im really really excited cause elder lopez is coming down here and he is even going to be in my district! so its really cool i get to be his district leader. even though he is my zone leader.

not much else to say. i said most of it in my big group email today. but yes i had heard about the utes and was really pretty excited about that! i think they deserve it personally. theres a guy in my ward who is really pretty big into football and was talking with us about it and so i think they have earned it. who knows, maybe if they go far enough this year the BCS wont be cheap and screw over the utes again. fingers crossed. if so, ill be at buffalo wild wings! haha just kidding. maybe.

so anyways, love you!

Hello again!!

So you probably got the email from me from last week several times. Oh well at least you got it. You only need to read it once though I didn't change or add anything to it. We made it home okay from Yellowstone without any problems.

Of course the biggest question is did you get transferred? It seems like this was a really short transfer. Did it seem that way to you? Maybe not because you were training and a DL.

To answer some of your questions from last week. Bruce is employed with the church so it's not a calling that sends him to Germany. He is working in the Humanitarian department. One time while we were at a family reunion he was on the phone with government people from the Middle East trying to get supplies sent to them. It's kind of cool. They made it to Germany okay and Aunt Mary has posted pictures on facebook. It looks really cold there. She says she has visited 5 castles. Maybe she will write to you to tell you all about it.

I also want you to know that I absolutely always believed that you would last your entire mission!! I always knew that you would make an amazing missionary! Smile

It's been a pretty quiet week. I canceled my presidency meeting this week because I had to go get my CPR renew. That was by far the worst CPR class I have ever attended!! She had no idea of the correct hand placement and forgot to tell us to check for breathing and a pulse before we start CPR. I had to tell her that we had to do that. I just hope no one I know ever needs to get CPR by her or anyone she has ever trained. So scary!!

Tell me about your experience training a new Elder. How is the work? Tell me about who you are working with. I really miss not going out with the missionaries. It was such a great experience. We haven't even had the missionaries over for dinner for awhile. Since we lost the sisters and we only have one set a missionaries for the Stake now we only get to have them every six weeks. I have been waiting to hear when Christian is going to be baptized. Now that I know I will have to sign up to feed them again. Elder Moore is staying here this transfer and said that he will be here for the rest of his mission. He is getting a new companion. Elder Weir is his name but we won't meet him until next week.

We are still have fairly nice weather here. It did rain this weekend but we still have no forecast for frost or anything so we are still getting lots of tomatoes that I have been making sauce with. Part of me would like it to freeze so I can just stop making sauce every week. You of course know that I don't really mean that because that would mean it would get cold and I don't want that.

How is the weather where you are? Is it cold yet? I hope not for your sake. Winter is too long and too cold if it has started already.

I assume you know that the UTES won. They seem to be doing really well. They are now ranked #3. Dad doesn't think they should be ranked that high though. I guess we shall see. It's been a fun season so far though. Utah State, BYU and Weber State also won. Utah State beat a ranked team so that was cool. I guess they beat Boise State they were rated #24.

Dad gets some kind of a report from the High Council that tells him who has mission calls and he told me that Ryan Gunn has received his mission call and leaves in January. He doesn't know where he is going though.

Jake and JaNeal Maughan are expecting a new baby in May. I haven't talked to Patsy yet but I bet she is excited about it.

Hilary is having surgery to have an ovarian cyst removed on October 26th. Robert isn't sure if he can have the day off yet or not so I might be going with her. That's okay I think I would like to go anyway I would just worry about her the whole time anyway.

I thought maybe tonight I would share my favorite scripture with you. I don't know if I have ever told you what my favorite scripture is before and after you told me about your mission companions favorite I also wondered what your favorite scripture is. So maybe you could tell me. So mine is D&C 76:22-24.

22 And now, after the many testimonies which have been given of him, this is the testimony, last of all, which we give of him: That he lives!
23 For we saw him, even on the right hand of God; and we heard the voice bearing record that he is the Only Begotten of the Father—
24 That by him, and through him, and of him, the worlds are and were created, and the inhabitants thereof are begotten sons and daughters unto God.

Have a great week!! Be happy, work hard, pray always and be obedient.

I will love you forever

Mom
