Elder Thomas

I Love Conference

so i dont currently have much time. i will later on. in about an hour or so. just while i remember, my jaw was getting really bad. every morning it would pop for about 2 hours and it just really hurt. one night i forgot to wear my mouth guard one night and the next morning my jaw wasnt popping at all and felt fine. so i tried it again and same result. i havent worn it since. that was about 7 months ago. its weird that i have even been gone that long. let alone longer than that.

also, could you email me a picture of my star wars poster in my room? my companion loves star wars and i told him i have the coolest poster ever. could you make it so the poster takes up the full picture? rather than seeing the wall in the picture as well. also, you should send me a picture of dads new truck
so the weather is great! im really happy that things have finally cooled down. it makes me really love october. i really do love october. so just about everything here is still green. in my picture by the pond the you may be able to see the trees across the pond are starting to turn colors. but really those are the first ones ive seen start to turn. its really pretty crazy to see that everything is still really green and they dont even use sprinklers out here. theres no need. its currently over cast and mid 60's. thats probably my favorite. i love cool overcast days.

i would just like to say i love that scripture i just recently memorized it. president loveland challenged me to memorize a scripture a day if possible from a big list he gave out to the mission. and that was the 2nd on i memorized. it was also elder lopez's favorite so i got to hear it a lot. i feel like i really grow a solid belief about my current companions favorite scripture. i dont know what im trying to say. but yeah, that was elder lopez's. elder stubbs didnt have one in particular. but he really liked king benjamin. elder huffman's favorite was alma 5:26. elder hall's was helaman 5:12. and elder thomas' is : isaih 1:18. i just told you all that without having to look them up. like i said, you really get to hear their favorite scripture a lot and their testimony about why its their favorite so you grow a fondness for it too.

so i just have a quick question. so you said that some parts have had a lot of rain. how much is a lot? cause i thought i knew what a lot of rain was. i wasnt ready for what is actually defined as a lot. just curious to see how much y'all have been getting and what other parts have been getting too. fayetteville has recieved like 45 inches of rain this year or something like that. and that was in a drought too so im sure it helped. i guess arkansas has been in a drought for a bit.

so no we are not working with anyone new. we have a member who heard that we had been struggling to find new people to teach. so he is planning a day, i believe its the 17th where him and another guy in the ward are going to come out with us to a town and were going to split and tract the entire town. i think its cool how willing he is to help us out. hes the member who owns the lollipop company.

anyways, ill get going. love you!

Hello there!!

How are you? How is the weather? Are you getting any of the rain there that is in other parts of the South? It didn't really look like it but I haven't looked to closely. We have had some rain here. Some places have had a lot of rain but it hasn't been too bad here.

Were you able to watch conference? I really hope so!! It was so awesome!! I think my favorite talk was by Elder Holland, but I really liked Pres. Nelson and Elder Bednar too. I also really loved the new Apostles testimonies. I think they are just amazing!! I also really liked Sister Stephens talk and then the idea of ponderizing a new scripture each week is great!! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. What was your favorite talk? I also really liked all the talks that talked about missionary work and especially the ones that were converted by missionaries. I am always sad that conference is over and wish we could have it more often.

Dad bought a truck yesterday. He bought a 2010 Ford F-150. He got a really good deal for it and it has really low mileage. He really needed a new truck his old one needs a lot of work. I guess now he is going to try to sell his old truck. He had pretty good luck selling the Altima so hopefully he will have the same luck with the truck.

I was just wondering today about your jaw. Does it still bother you? Did the mouth piece help at all and do you still use it?

How is the work? Are you working with anyone now?

We have your package ready to send but we couldn't find a Rubik's cube. Well actually we could find a real Rubik's cube but not the other kind so we will order it from Amazon and either have it shipped directly to you or send it later.

We are getting better at smoking ribs! We smoked them again today and we started them at 10 am and cooked them until 6:00 pm. They turned out really good!! By the time you get home we should have them perfected.

I went to a Luncheon for work this week. It was a Voices for Utah's children luncheon. The coaches from the Grand that I have been involved with were recognized. Kathleen Kennedy Townsend was the Keynote speaker. She is the oldest child of Robert Kennedy who is President Kennedy's brother. He was also shot when he was running for President. It was really good. She is an excellent speaker and it was so interesting to learn about all the things they had to do while they were growing up. They used to have to report on current events every night at the dinner table and write a report about a famous person or event every week and report it to their family. I was always just happy when everyone got their homework done. I think it is pretty amazing and no wonder the Kennedy family were so into politics. The food was also really good. They had the best bread pudding ever!! I tried to google the recipe but couldn't find it. Oh well, maybe I will just have to go back to Little America to have some bread pudding.

I figure I am already half way there to ponderizing a scripture every week. I have already been picking out to share with you. Now all I have to do is to print it out and hang it up and think about it all week so here is my scripture for the week.

Mosiah 2:41
And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness. O remember, remember that these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it.

Take care of yourself, pray always, be obedient and work hard!! You are wonderful and amazing.

I will love you forever!
