Prairie Grove, Arkansas

Elder Thomas

I Set My Clocks Early Cause i Know I'm Always Late.

alright everyone so that was majority of my week. so i guess i could go down into detail if y'all would like.

so monday was a good time. we were supposed to go bowling and i was supposed to go dominate. but things didnt go according to plan. not the dominating part, we all know that thats going to happen without question. just the whole bowling part didnt go through. we ended up going to the NWA mall instead which was pretty sweet. saw some floral shoes that had my name written all over it. but i had to pass. for now.

tuesday we saw the fire. the thing that came to my mind was "THERES A FIRE! I RAN FOR MY LIFE! I GOT BRONCHITIS! AINT NOBODY GOT TIME FO DAT!" literally was saying that like almost all day. i guess just some farmer was burning off his crops in preparation for the winter and stuff i suppose.. but yeah it was a really big fire kinda cool to watch.

wednesday: totally saw the sherwoods down at battlefield! that was so legit! for all of you who dont know the sherwoods, im sorry cause youre missing out! #stellarpeople. then i totally killed it in basketball that night! ok, not really, but i did ok. for all of you who dont know, my 3 game is strong.

thursday: transfers! ugh.. woke up at like 4:30 that morning to be up in bentonville by 6 for transfers. that was exhausting. so after meeting my trainee elder thomas we went to village inn with a bunch of missionaries. this is where we split off for the day. we headed back to our area, to find out that it was only like 9:20 in the morning and i had sadly been up like almost 5 hours at that point in time. so we decided to go do service at life ministries. we got there and i saw this one guy, who the very first time elder huffman and i went there, he just followed us around bashing us and i thought "oh no. this cant happen on this kids first day.." anyways, we avoided the situation. he saw us and was like "y'all from utah?" and i was like "yes sir." and then i took off. haha thats not happening.

friday: was the day of the squirrel. that was literally the coolest thing ever! friday was kind of a day that we just saw whoever would take us. active members, less actives, investigators, all that. pretty much everything fell through that day so it was a scramble but it was solid! i got to hold a squirrel so you cant say thats not a good time!

Saturday: had my first baptism! and of course i didnt take any pictures. but it happened i promise! it was super cool. also, saturday was the day elder bednar was going to talk with us as a mission. but that fell through... that was a really sad day when we all got that news, but hey it was a good day nonetheless!

Sunday: so being the District leader i get to take care of the numbers and stuff for the district. i was supposed to get a binder from the previous district leader but he didnt end up at transfer point until like way after we left just cause they didnt need to be there. so i never got a binder. so i had no idea what i was supposed to be doing with all the numbers. and no one really told me what i was supposed to do with them until after i was already behind on doing what i needed to be doing with them. its not like i said i had no idea what i was doing and needed just a little information about what i needed to do. "oh you'll be fine!" well, we all kinda paid for that one didnt we? haha next week ill be a little more prepared!

i dont really have a set scripture for you guys today, but so the past 2 weeks in gospel principles class were really cool. 2 weeks ago we talked about the creation and yesterday we talked about adam and eve. i really like those two parts of the bible and pearl of great price. not really sure why, just intrigues me.

anyways, i love you all!

this was meant to go out last week, but we all remember that disaster of a time i had trying to email. so i call this one, "perks of doing service at a second hand shop."

and also, that last email was supposed to say down *town* prairie grove. my mistake. and forget the second "that night." i kinda rushed that email

alright im back! so, we caught a baby squirrel at a less actives house. when we first pulled up the little thing was hanging on to the tree for dear life. looked like a squirrel statue cause it wasnt moving at all. it was a nice day outside so we were meeting with him outside and then saw it walking around the base of the tree so he went over and picked it up. it was pretty sad. the thing was just done. so i figured, "hey ive never held a squirrel before, and nows my chance!" so here we are. it was a pretty solid welcome to arkansas for my boy elder thomas!
