Tornadoes

o yeah this past wednesday 2 tornados touched down in our mission, (that i know of) one in the tulsa area, and one in northern arkansas. the one in arkansas didnt do any damage. but the one in tulsa did. well, it was actually just outside tulsa. my companion, elder stubbs, said that that one was actually in his area (Sapulpa, Oklahoma. its pretty much just a suburb of Tulsa.) but he didnt see it. we were on a tornado warning, meaning, the storm had potential to produce tornados and come to find out, it did. which is crazy. we actually had signs of a tornado. we had big hail, this happens, if i remember correctly, because of the up-drafts. these keep the water droplets up in the clouds and since it is cold enough up there, thats why they freeze. and then once they get heavy enough is when they drop. but the updrafts from a tornado can be strong enough that it holds the hail up there for a longer period of time.they can even form together, making them bigger. the hail that came down was probably about nickel or maybe quarter sized hail. it was pretty intense. so the protocol for a storm like that is to just stay where you are. well, unless you are out in the open, then find shelter, then stay there. we were over at a members home luckily, so we were there for quite a while. the thunderstorm was pretty crazy, back home the storms have nothing on this. the lightning would light up the sky like it was noon-day. and it wouldnt just be a flash it would be constant. i enjoyed myself.

so yeah we are still staying really busy. im not fully adjusted to my new companion yet, but in time im sure i will. he came in here and tried to change how i had been doing things. in my area. but thats not going to happen. if he wants to change how this area runs, he will have to wait until i get transfered, thats just how i am. once i am one way, thats how it stays, plus im stubborn enough too. haha. we will work things out im sure.

It has actually been fairly stressful for me, being in charge of the area. cause i now have to be in charge of planning and stuff, cause he doesnt really know where anything is and doesnt know where certain towns are so doesnt know how to plan accordingly. so lately its been stressful, but nothing i cant handle.

so this upcoming week, as you all know, is conference. and so in light of that we have been sharing amos 3:7. which is encouraged by president to memorize. so we have been sharing that and getting people really excited about it and stuff. so hopefully ittl be a good time for our investigators. so if we have investigators that plan on watching it, they broadcast it at the church so we would watch it there with them. but if not, we will probably hopefully see if we can go to a members house and watch it with them. but anyways, have a good week! thanks all of the support!

So apparently transfers take place in a parking lot?
it was probably more like 60-80. haha its the biggest transfer point in the mission. and so we got there early, so me and elder lopez went and got some breakfast real quick. and then the people realized that it was the "mormons day" and then everyone got really upset and just not very happy haha. it kind of reminded me of back home when i was at work and would see kids coming in from high schools for like dances and stuff. but to be fair. i would get paid on tips. and they dont tip very well. these people make at least minimum so whether or not they get slammed they still get the same amount either way.
