Hey Everyone!
So this week in North Ogden was a good, solid week. Had its ups and downs but good. Been just working and helping and serving everyone so it's been awesome! Found some new investigators this week and are helping them prepare for baptism … been good. Had to drop some people which sucks, but that's alright they'll be ready in the future for sure. But it's been good, learning a lot and having fun. The weather is getting amazing! It was like in the 30's to 40's this week and I was sweating some days which is crazy because when I'm back in AZ I'm going to have a rude awakening to the heat. But it's been good so let's get into the week.
Monday:
P-day … played some sports as a zone, we did stuff around the house, went to the store, then we had dinner with the Lara family again - they are such good cooks! We had some authentic enchiladas … they were so good, I'll send a pic with the family. Then we had some lessons that night, and had an interesting experience with this one guy that let us in … we were guided to go to his home, no clue what it was, but let's just say that experience just strengthened my testimony of the restored gospel, and that Satan is real but God and the priesthood is infinite, and all powerful.
Tuesday:
We helped move our investigator Marcela (she is 90) … her family needed help moving her into her hospital bed in her home. She fell last week and broke her arm really bad. She was very strong before but it wasn't good after she fell. Then we had a huddle with our senior couple missionaries, then went out and worked the day.
Wednesday:
Had some lessons, and did some visits. We practiced with the Spanish missionaries for a musical fireside we are doing soon. In Mount Lewis stake, we did a blitz in another area in the zone and found some potentials for those elders and had a good day.
Thursday:
We had a zone training meeting, which was awesome. Learned a lot, then we went out and worked. Had a lesson with Dennis which was good … man he is soooooo close to getting baptized - he would be such a stud member. Love him … he is awesome! But a good day.
Friday:
We found out Marcela died. We found out that morning she passed away at 11pm Thursday night. It was a peaceful going they said, still sad, but she is in a better place and will have a chance to accept the gospel there, we tried, but I know she'll accept it. Had weekly planning which was good and made goals to improve this week and sought what we could do to strengthen this area, members, and investigators. Had a couple lessons and some very good new investigators.
Saturday:
Visited the auxiliaries in the wards and ward mission leaders to tell how our week was. Did some finding and visiting, and had dinner at Café Rio with a cool older couple in one of the wards we cover. Then had some lessons and did some more visits.
Sunday:
Wooo it's like the best day getting to take the sacrament, and just feel the peace from going to church is amazing. Had meetings all day, did some contacting and visits, and like every house was watching super bowl that we went to … all you hear is yelling and screaming as you go down the street, it was funny 😂. Hard not to watch but stayed strong.
But solid week. We have some fun things planned for this next week with mission conference for some zones. We set up a basketball game Saturday with some investigators and the wards so hopefully that goes awesome. But had a good week with ups and downs, just trying to stay excited all time! And just have joy in helping and serving people.
But love you all and hope you all have a sweet week! Talk to ya next week!
