Patience

This week seemed to shoot by and take forever at the same time! All good things, though.

My new companion, Elder Cardiel, is awesome! He was raised in Tijuana, Mexico, but lived in Idaho the past 6 or so years so his English is pretty good. I'm enjoying it because I haven't had a native Spanish speaking comp since March! haha.
So we have been hard at work here, on the Facebook grind. Since daylight savings happened the other week, it gets dark now at like 5:30! That makes finding people outside a little rough but that's okay. We were able to find some new friends on Facebook which was cool
Ssome epic things that happened:-I saw Sister Tucker! -We got some awesome news! Elder Cardiel and I will be able to go to the Newport Beach temple on December 11th so he can get endowed! we are so excited and I am so happy for him. it will have been a year and like 3 Weeks that I won't have been to the temple, so I am so excited.
I had some good experiences this week just being around other missionaries! One day I was showering and Elder Rodríguez, the Elder who replaced Elder Tingey, just prepared me some mâte to drink when I got out. it was so nice! 😂 especially because I need that part of my day so badly hahahaha.
This transfer for my Christlike attribute study I have been deep in thought about Patience—I really enjoy studying it! I definitely used to think it only had to do with waiting in line, waiting for traffic, etc. But I've been learning that another name for patience for long-suffering. literally suffering long! that's so crazy to me. In the first line describing Patience in PMG, it says "Patience is the capacity to endure delay, trouble, opposition, or suffering without becoming angry, frustrated, or anxious. It is the ability to do God’s will and accept His timing. When you are patient, you hold up under pressure and are able to face adversity calmly and hopefully."And from just those lines Patience is a superpower lol. So a lot of it has to do with accepting trials and sufferings and keeping up your faith and stamina. Definitely not something easy, Especially when there are so many trials to go around these days!
So I loved these scriptures I found this week:
Romans 5:3-"And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience"and Hebrews 12:1-"Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us."
It's not always easy to hear that we need patience! but it probably is always what we need.
Hope everyone has a good week and thinks about patience!
