Gruß Gott,
I hope everyone had a good week! This week was not as busy as last week but it was still decently busy.
On Friday we had a split with the zone leaders in Dortmund and it was really fun. I was with Elder Kimball who is the great great great grandson of Heber C. Kimball, who was one of the first Apostles in the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. Elder Kimball is really cool and I went with him to to Dortmund. My companion, Elder Felix, and the other zone leader, Elder Koch stayed in Hagen. On the split We had an appointment with two members who are from Bangladesh, a small country right next to India. It was really cool to talk with them and get to know them.
On Saturday we finished the split and it was kinda sad because Elder Kimball is going home because he has finished his mission. Fortunatley, I got to be his last split. So it was kind of cool but also a little sad. But anyways, the rest of Saturday we tried to find people and do some area book work.
On Sunday we had church and we went to a city near Hagen called Iserlohn and we went to visit a returning member who lives there. When we got back we did studies and stuff.
On Monday we had a Zone Leader Conference call for the District Leaders but since i'm the companion of the District Leader I got to be in the meeting. After the meeting we went by some more people and tried to get appointments.
We also got an email from President Boyer stating that from now on, we aren't allowed to leave our area for pday except for one district pday per transfer. This was tough to take because we used to be able to go anywhere in the mission on pday as long as we were back by 6pm. Then last week President Boyer changed it to just in our zone, and now we have to stay in our area except one pday per transfer.
On Tuesday we did our studies and went by a returning member from Congo. He speaks some German but his language is French so it's pretty cool. We talked with him about the new "Come Follow Me" program and he said that he will come to Stake Conference which is this Saturday and Sunday.
We then meet with a new convert who is from Afghanistan. He doesn't speak much German either so we had a Persian translator there via Skype and it was way fun. The second counselor in the Elders Quorom presidency was there so that was cool too-- and It was a great lesson. We talked about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and he knew and understood it all.... According to the translator haha.
Then on Wednesday we had an appointment with a person were teaching named Hajo. He is from Iraq and his native language is Kurdish, which is really tough because the Church doesn't have a Kurdish Book of Mormon. Fortunately, he speaks Arabic so we can give him an Arabic Book of Mormon. He speaks decedent German so that's helpful. We talked about the divine mission of Jesus Christ, which is always fun to teach.
We then had our missionary correlation meeting with the second counselors in the Elders Quorom Presidency and the Relief Society. We talked about the missionary work and the progress that the returning members and friends of the Church are making.
Today we got haircuts and went to the city and chilled. We are now at the Church to write emails and play the piano.
