Merry Christbaum and I ate goose!

Grützi!

Hey everyone! I hope everybody is enjoying the holiday season as we celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ! This was of course a really awesome and packed week.

On Friday we did a split in Saarbrücken and I stayed in my area with Elder Sanders. I had to pick them up and then drive Elder Shinedling and Elder Jukes all the way back to Saarbrücken instead of them taking the train because a tree fell on the train tracks and they couldn't get back unless we drove them.

On Saturday the trains were working again so they rode on the train back to Trier and we split back into our normal companionship. Later on Friday we went by an an inactive members house and then stopped by another families home with the Elders Quorum President and shared a quick message about Christmas.

On Sunday we had our special Christmas Sacrament Meeting and it was really good. Nobody gave talks but we had several musical performances and it was really really awesome and the Spirit was very present. After church Elder Shinedling gave a baptismal interview to a guy that the Saarbrücken Elders have been teaching. He passed the interview and his baptism is this upcoming Saturday. We then went home for a couple of minutes and then went to the Wilson's house and had bread viejas. Afterwards some other members came over to their house and we sang Christbaum songs and hung out-- it was really fun!

On Monday, which was Christmas Eve, we went back over to the Wilson's in the morning and made Christmas cookies. For lunch we went over to the Hernandez's and ate. We had hot dogs and they treated us way good. Then for dinner we went to the Melgoza's who live in Saarburg which is far away from us and we had goose and rotkohl and everything tasted super good.

On Christmas Day we went to Bishop Foster's house and had brunch and hung out with his family until a little bit before 1 o'clock. We then went to the other Foster's house and played basketball and hung out with them. We had dinner and went to the church to call our families! That was really cool!

Then the next day we went to a senior couple's house and another member came over and we had brunch and played a game. Afterwards we went to the church and cleaned and chilled for the rest of the day.

And today is P-Day and we are going to Saarbrücken to hang out with the Elders there and see a church and do some shopping. I bought a super sweet wool coat for church.

This has been a great week. Not just for the things that we have done but the reasons why we celebrate Christmas. I'm so thankful that we have a loving Heavenly Father who sent His Son to earth to die for our sins so that we can live with our Heavenly Father again.

Have a great week!
Elder Rich
