Enjoy!
Hey everybody!! This week was a little slow unfortunately, but my spirits are still up! Here's what happened.
After emailing last Monday, we went to the zone activity, and we carved pumpkins and played football. It was a lot of fun. We had a lesson with Olivia that night, and it was awesome! I think if we could meet with her just a few more times, we might be able to put her on date for baptism! She is so close, hopefully we are able to do it! We then met with Brother Horton from Canyon Rim, and I am really liking this biweekly meeting. We're able to keep him completely up to date, and we are able to brainstorm ideas of what we can do for the stake.
Tuesday, we ended up losing our car as a couple of other missionaries needed it because one of them wrecked their bike. So we took it to the mission office, and went on with our day. We then had a lesson with Simeon, and we could've had a better, lesson. But we brought the Spirit, we testified, and we did what we needed to do to help them come closer to Christ. We did, however, pick up 2 new investigators! Simon's wife, Madeline, and they're housemate, Hannah. We are super stoked to be teaching them, and hopefully, we are able to help all of them make commitments!
Wednesday was wild. We had started weekly planning, as we had exchanges on Thursday, but we didn't get much done before our lesson with Cameron. After dinner, we had a lesson with a potential. We'll need to talk to his wife after it, she is a member, and he is not, and all the kids are baptized and fully active. We're not 100% sure what to do about it. We then had a stake correlation meeting with the EMC stake ward mission leaders and High Counselor. It was a really good meeting, we were able to talk about a lot that had been happening, and get some things out in the open and talked about on the stake level.
Thursday we had exchanges with the zone leaders, and that was a lot of fun. I went with Elder Meer, who is actually from Annapolis, Maryland. It was a little weird to talk with him, because schools we knew would play each other, and we had never met before the mission. We ended up trying to contact a few people, and then did some service projects. We then went with Brother Ivins to the Hanson's house as Adriel, the husband was being ordained to the Melchizedek Priesthood in the office of Elder. It was truly amazing to get to be a part of and to have been able to watch them both grow in the gospel. We then contacted some people with Brother Ivins, and then correlated with Brother Nelson of EMC N.
Friday was mostly meetings with the correlations and district meeting. We then got dinner dropped off at our apartment as the husband couldn't be home until after 6. Later, we had a lesson with the Su's, and that was a bit of a rough lesson. We did everything that we could've done and should've done, but things still seemed to be at a standstill.
Saturday was an ok day. We finished weekly planning, and was able to set up an appointment with Jim on our way to dinner. After dinner, we went to a trunk-or-treat, and then out contacting people with Jeremy before his lesson with the Sorensen's. In all honesty, Jeremy is such a huge blessing to the missionary efforts to this area. His stake or not, he's ready and willing to help, and it's amazing.
Sunday was a little slow, we weren't able to be at as many places during the day with no car. But we were able to attend 2 sacrament meetings and a couple of classes. We then had a lesson with Ewan, and the family needed to push the baptism back because several of their invities couldn't make it this weekend. We then set another appointment with Tristyn and Staci before dinner. After, we had a lesson at the Hanson's house, and the difference in the feeling of being in the home with that Spirit was just amazing. It was ridiculous how noticeable it was. They have also noticed it in Adriel and in the way he is since being ordained. It has truly been a blessing to have been able to watch them grow so much, they don't count as baptisms, but they do count as converts, and it has been such a tremendous blessing to have been the mouth piece for the Lord to teach them the new member lessons.
Well, thats how things are going these days, I hope all of you are staying safe and staying true. Love you all!!
Stay safe. Stay wise. Stay strong.
