I'll just jump into it. We went bowling last p-day with a bunch of young single adults from our ward and I pulled a legendary upset on the last frame to beat Elder Storey by one! haha I was freaking out a little on the inside. It was great fun. I was just tryin' to bowl straight ("just like shaking a hand"), like Momma always said!
Elder Storey's stomach was a little weird this week so we've been eating a lot of fruits, veggies, nuts and seeds, some lean meat, little fat and no sugar. Sort of. Trying to at least. The corn soup at Ba Fang is like one of the only things that sits okay with him so we ate at Ba Fang a TON this week! I tried a new flavor that I really enjoyed.
Saturday was kinda tough cuz we had some sweet lessons set up for the evening, and both canceled like right before. Happens. We were biking home from the chapel and I was pondering/talking to God about the state of the work in our area when this kid on the side of the road called us over kind of urgently. Long story short, he just wanted to play some mazhang (no clue how to spell it. You know, that one game they play in Asia) and we couldn't say no! He has some disabilities and has to have a tube in his throat to help him breathe. He was so cute. You could tell we just totally made his day. It's about the one. A tender mercy reminding me that the Lord's in charge here.
I made some fast sunday french toast for dinner last night! You can find maple syrup and everything here! Just thought I'd let ya know. Then our zone leaders called us at 9:25 last night and said their A/C is broken and President said they could sleep over at our apartment! So it was a crazy night trying to figure out where everyone could sleep but we got it figured out. A/C is an essential, and a great blessing!! haha
So I came across this quote from Ezra Taft Benson this week in my studies and it hit me so hard. He said, "The Lord works from the inside out. The world works from the outside in. The world would take people out of the slums. Christ takes the slums out of the people, and then they take themselves out of the slums. The world would mold men by changing their environment. Christ changes men, who then change their environment. The world would shape human behavior, but Christ can change human nature." Whoa. I know in my own life that this truly is the Lord's method. And I've seen Him change not only investigator's behaviors, but also their natures. He is the Great Physician. He is the Son of God.
Love you all! Have a great week!
