K so Taiwan has these spider things that legit jump around from place to place, but it happens so fast that it looks like they teleport. Impossible to get. We've got a little bit of an infestation in our apartment, but they're pretty small so it's whatever. We just coexist. haha
We went to a Japanese barbecue with our ward mission leader last p day which was amazing, especially because he payed ;) We ate some pig intestines, which wasn't horrible when you drench it in soy sauce (that's the trick for a lot of things. haha)
Everyone always says their rainstorms are the craziest wherever they are, so I'll jump right on that bandwagon. No sign of it coming and then BOOM instant flood and everything, literally everything, is soaked and we have to ride 15 minutes across town to a lesson. hahaha I actually love it. Can't help myself but laugh my head off while trying to wipe the water from my eyes so I can still see all the scooters and what not. Gotta love your mission! My shoes and planner got absolutely wrecked though. The pictures just don't do it justice. I eventually caved in and bought a super shuai poncho thing. I quickly learned, though, that you still get wet on the inside from your sweat cuz it's so dang hot. hahaha you just gotta embrace it! I love it.
Not a WHOLE lot to say this week as it was kind of a tough week -nobody willing to listen, getting kicked out of several places while tracting (never happened to me before this week!), investigators not answering phones or not setting up, etc. SO, another chance to be humbled, learn and grow, and prove my faith. I love the promise the Lord gives to Ammon and his brethren in Alma 26 :"...bear with patience thine afflictions, and I will give unto you success." I have a strong testimony that this is the Lord's work, so why not go on in so great a cause and give everything I have?
I think I've said before that missions magnify your weaknesses so much, and I was reminded of that this week. But I think Paul puts it really well in 2 Cor. when he talks about tough times on his own mission, saying "And [the Lord] said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong." We all have weaknesses, but I know that because of Christ's atonement, He can strengthen us. Come unto Him.
Love you all so much! Have a great week!
