HHHEEEYYY!!! So good to talk with you all! This week was a complete blur. So. Insanely. Busy.
Holy cow! I discovered this thing called Shi tou kao rou -like a do-it-yourself barbecue thing where they bring out plates and plates of raw meats and other things (I ate chicken heart and this little octopus thing) and you grill it up and eat it! So so good.
We went to Er Lin a literal ton this week (okay twice.) and a crazy guy on the way tried to get us to worship a giant statue, so that was different. The reason we were going there so much is cuz there's a miracle lady we found there actually back in October. haha. Haven't been able to meet with her. Anyways, finally met with her and set a baptismal goal! And of course, like many others, she's going to have a "protesting family" problem...her husband doesn't know she's been meeting with us cuz she's afraid of what he'll say. Keep her in your prayers, and that her husband's heart will be softened. She's named Xu JM and really wants to follow Christ and be baptized. So that's really cool! We made the 1 hour and 15 min trip in under 40 minutes to make it to the lesson in time. My legs felt super big which was quite pleasing to the carnal mind.
After we got back from Er Lin, the Shi family took us out to this amazing sashimi/asain food place and it was also very delicious. I love asian food. I tried to rip the head off a gigantic shrimp and his red juice got all over my white shirt. Cool. Stain? ......yup. But that's okay. Just don't look too close.
Yeah so this week we were teaching and getting a lot of baptismal goals and stuff. Felt good. Really good. Then we got the call. Elder Hanna is off to Ping Dong to be a zone leader (which was my goal for him so that makes me super happy!). Elder Cook from the one and only K-town is coming to hit up Xihu with me, so that'll be fun. And Elder Anderson from baseball and our stake is coming to Yuan Lin to replace my district leader! Cool stuff!
But I was like "aaahhhhh...." cuz things were finally getting comfortable, and we were really starting to kill it out here. And then the Lord decided to switch it up. Of course. And even though I trust Him, I was still having a bit of a hard time accepting it. I just couldn't understand. But I had a good wrestle with the Lord over it and ultimately found myself saying, like the father in the New Testament, "Lord, I believe. Help thou mine unbelief." And you know what? I felt better! There are things the Lord will have happen that just don't make sense to us in the moment. BUT. "Believe in God; believe that he is and that he created all things both in heaven and in earth believe that he has all wisdom, and all power, both in heaven and in earth; believe that man doth not comprehend all the things which the Lord can comprehend." (Mosiah 4:9) Put our trust in him! Trust that it's all for our good!
I love it. Love the work. Love the people. Love the Lord. And I love you! I'm sure there was more stuff but honestly can't remember and don't really wanna try right now. haha. sorry.
But have the best week ever! Love you all so much! FIGHT ON!!!
