When I Grow Old

Whhhhaaaa how are ya?

Some items of business: transfers came and went, and I'll be staying in Zhongming with Elder Olson for one more. Ohhhh!!! Let's goooooo!!!!

This week was an absolutely glorious week of progress made by people. Brother Chen came to church and just owned it! So good. He said next week he's going to wear his suit and look better than both Elder Olson and I combined! Haha he's not wrong. He's a handsome man.

We're also really excited about this miracle with an LA young man the bishop wanted us to help - we've been trying so hard to get him back to reactivity and hopefully going on a mission eventually but his very real video game addiction has hindered any kind of progress. Not exactly things as they really are (Jacob 4:13), am I right? Anyways, he had this prodigal son moment this week where he realized he was at rock bottom and wanted to repent!! It might've had something to do with the fact that his video games were making the prospect of his being able to graduate high school very very minimal, but either way!! So that was exciting to see. His grandma also took us to the most delicious traditional restaurant last week. That's nice.

And guess what??!! Back in Daya there was a part-member family that had 9 kids that we worked so hard to get reactivated and have the youngest 3 kids become our investigators. It literally took from the first day I got to Daya to my last day there to make it happen. I just found out they all got baptized this last week!!!!! Woooohooo!!! I'm so stoked about that! :) :)

And thus we see that the work just rolls on forward inspite of our imperfections and weaknesses. I like being on the Lord's team.

Faith is necessary to "lay hold upon every good thing" as taught in Moroni 7. I love it. Yesterday there was a member who brought a new light to this when she explained how she had a desire to improve herself, and that desire helped her to make some hard decisions to keep the commandments and change her life. I believe that the desire she talked about is actually based on faith. We should have a desire to improve ourselves! I know it's because of the Savior Jesus Christ and his atonement that we can have a hope and faith in a better world and in our better selves.

Love you all so much!! Have a great week!
