Fishin' In The Dark

My dearest family and friends, what's up??!!

This week feels like it just flew past me in the twinkling of an eye! At the beginning of last week we ate SUPER unhealthy, and I felt it for sure. But it was also somewhat justifiable. Last p-day was Elder Choi's big elder birthday so we went to this all-you-can-eat buffet called the Harbor, and I'm mad at myself now for not snagging any pics. It was amazing. I ate a LOT of raw fish and Häagen-Dazs ice cream. And then the next day we had to go to a meeting in the city, and it was dinner time so we decided to splurge again and go to this super good burger place called the Freen. Anyways that's as low as it goes this last week.

Our investigator, Sister Guo, passed her baptismal interview!! YAY!!! She needs lots of prayers from ya'll, so she can get baptized this Saturday and confirmed on Sunday. I love helping people repent and prepare to be baptized. Haha.

A perk of being somewhat near the office is that when new missionaries come on island we get to participate in their first proselyting experience! And since this last batch of new missionaries just got here, we got to go out with them Wednesday night for an hour. It was so rejuvenating to feel the new missionaries' flame of faith! We saw so many miracles! Also funny side note, the Elder I took out ended up getting trained by Elder Huff who I finished training like 6 months ago! (His name is Elder Smith) CRAZY! My mission genealogy was before my eyes.... Haha.

Remember when we'd wake up early and read scriptures as a family where each would read like 2 or 3 verses? We've been doing that this last week with brother Wu, one of our investigators, and his stud of a fellowshipper, brother Xie! Every morning at 6:15 we all FaceTime together and read the Book of Mormon. Turns out you don't have to wait super long until Nephi starts talking about repentance and baptism. Chapter 10 in first Nephi, which we read this morning, hits it super well!! Haha fun stuff.

Think of what it'd be like to actually learn the things this song talks about :

1. Savior, may I learn to love thee,
Walk the path that thou hast shown,
Pause to help and lift another,
Finding strength beyond my own.
Savior, may I learn to love thee—
Lord, I would follow thee.
2. Who am I to judge another
When I walk imperfectly?
In the quiet heart is hidden
Sorrow that the eye can’t see.
Who am I to judge another?
Lord, I would follow thee.
3. I would be my brother’s keeper;
I would learn the healer’s art.
To the wounded and the weary
I would show a gentle heart.
I would be my brother’s keeper—
Lord, I would follow thee.
4. Savior, may I love my brother
As I know thou lovest me,
Find in thee my strength, my beacon,
For thy servant I would be.
Savior, may I love my brother—
Lord, I would follow thee.

I've got a long ways to go, but I think so far over the course of my mission I've been able to learn some small part of what these things are. I'm so grateful for that.

Love you all!! Have a glorious week!
