HHAALLLLOOO!!!!! WOW!! This was an absolutely killer week. Just dominating left and right it feels like. Elder Choi is super 帥, is from Provo, his uncle is the famous "Look up....DRINK!" Elder Choi from April 2017 conference, and he likes working out and is a lot more committed than me to eat healthy. So I'm going to try.
Not a ton of time today cuz we're going to try and go hiking. BUT holy cow. At the beginning of last week we knew Brother Yang had passed his baptismal interview but also knew he was heading back up to Taibei where he studies at grad school and he was being a little wishy-washy about his urgency to get baptized. We had a skype lesson on Elder Johnson's last night and Elder Johnson just hit us all so hard with all the spiritual capacity inside of him, and we got a text the next morning from Brother Yang that said that he wanted to get baptized on Saturday! YAY!! haha. So we worked as hard as we could to prepare and make sure the baptismal service went fantastic....and it did!!! It was glorious.
One of the super cool new investigators we found this week is this kid named brother Jiang. He was sitting nearby at a restaurant, and we asked if he wanted to eat with us, and he was super golden!! haha. He even came to church yesterday too, so he's committed!! haha we're just seeing so many miracles like that it's amazing!!
Alright quick thought: Brother Yang's knowledge of the Book of Mormon is pretty astounding. Like he's super smart and then you throw on top of that the fact that he studies it intensely everyday, it just makes sense. Anyways, he brought up an incredible point I'd never noticed before that he shared after in his testimony after he was baptized. In 3rd Nephi 19 it talks about Jesus actually smiling as he looks upon his disciples praying. Did you know that? I didn't. Then he goes on to make this connection: that it's not because those disciples are perfect and never commit sin and make mistakes. Those disciples were full of faith and just trying to do the best the could, and because of that Jesus loved them and had compassion on them despite their imperfections. Take hope! "Behold, doth he cry unto any, saying: Depart from me? Behold, I say unto you, Nay; but he saith: Come unto me all ye ends of the earth, buy milk and honey, without money and without price...he hath given it free for all men;" -2 Ne. 26:25;27
