Well, if I was ever worried about plateuing, this week has definitely changed that! With zone conference and general conference there were so many things brought to my attention to work on and repent of. Always needed.
Well it finally happened. I ate pig's blood soup with pig intestines, both large and small. It was free because a member wanted to test our bravery. And it replaced my priesthood session sushi. Hard to describe. Taste like chicken? not really...
Wasn't it cool how many talks mentioned President Monson's talk from last conference? Everyone was supporting the prophet and his prophetic counsel to get on that Book of Mormon study. So cool to see that kind of support, setting a great example for us all.
We decorated our apartment a little bit thanks to the package from the family. We also killed probably the biggest cockroach yet. It could fly. We also did missionary work this week. Sister Wang is progressing really good and took a baptismal goal for November 11.
So bear with me. I understand the context of the story in Ether 15 is really unsettling because of the evil and wickedness that abounded at that time. But isn't our time full of evil and wickdeness too? It says in verse 15 that the men "with their wives and their children...[were] armed with weapons of war, having shields, and breastplates, and head-plates, and being clothed after the manner of war" and later in verse 20 it says that "when the night came they slept upon their swords." One word I noticed twice in general conference that seemed a little unusual was the word "vigilant". Just like the Jaredites in the Book of Mormon, we need to be armed and ready at all times, vigilantly fighting the forces of evil around us. The good thing is that unlike the Jaredites, we can be on the Lord's team! And his team always wins. Lets go!!
