Fireflies

Dear friends and family,This week I was interviewed by President. That man always brings power to the room, it is something. I had the chance to talk with him one-on-one and I learned a lot, but first and foremost, I learned the importance of goals. I am not talking about goals in soccer, I am talking about goals that change your life, make the world a better place, and make a full-use of your time. Though I had some goals, he encouraged me to set more. So this week, I've been thinking a lot about that. I had set a lot of goals for my mission, but now I'm thinking about goals for life too. I encourage you all to set some goals.

I had some good times with Elder Aguirre this week. The kid never ever smiles in pictures (I've tried and tried to get one of one him smiling) but he does smile when we have some good conversations about the crazy things that happen in life. This week he's been talking a lot more, and as a result we are becoming a lot better friends. I love Elder Loram Aguirre, he is a stud! Did I mention he studied more than 5 types of martial arts, practiced with the katana for 9 years, is definitely a genius, and can cook like an Italian chef? I'm pretty convinced he is a vigilante too. But I digress.

We found some more investigators this week! There was Federico and Isabel, Mari, and a young man named Hugo. They are all great people even though some of them smell weird, haha I love them. I will keep you updated as things happen with them. I am happy to be finding new people, I am happy because I am getting over a cold I had, and I am happy because fireflies are all over El Parque during the nights. It is fun seeing toads and frogs, weirdly mutated dogs, and fireflies. I seriously seriously love this town!

My thought for you all is on God's will. I have been thinking about it alot, and as I have said before His will is the most important thing there is in this universe. It doesn't matter our circumstance, His will is the most important thing there is. If we are trying with all of our heart to do what He wants, everything else won't really matter. Sickness won't take away hope, the uncertainty of the future won't leave you feeling uncertain, and death won't bring you fear - but everything will pass. The question we need to ask ourselves is, "Do I know God's will for me? Am I carrying out His will for me?" If we can answer yes to those two questions, I can promise you we will answer yes to the question, "Am I happy?" I testify of God's power and love, and that His plan is one of happiness. Carry on my friends and my family, I love you all!
Hurrah for Israel!
-Elder Keeley
P.S.: No, I didn't see the Google street view car while it was coming through taking pictures of everything in Mar de Ajo back in September =( I was watching for it, but never saw it. Maybe it will come through another town where I will be in the near future.
