The Changes
Dear friends and family,This week came and went, and with it ended the transfer. Sadly enough, the mission took my companion from me =( I got along really well with Elder Aguirre, but now he's going to a different area. He will still be in the same district though, so I will see him every Tuesday. I don't know if I ever mentioned it, but he was super awesome.
And guess what is happening with me? I am training again! I just finished Elder Aguirre's training and now I will be training a second time. I am excited but I am nervous. I won't find out who I am training until tomorrow, so I am just waiting. I am with my good friend Elder Jones tonight and tomorrow morning though, so I am happy. He is a stud, he was in my zone in the coast with me and now he is my district leader here.
Anyways, things are great here. Elder Aguirre ended his time in El Parque well. We taught more lessons than we ever had, we found new investigators, and we worked hard. Some of the investigators are progressing and I am just hoping I can get a few of them to church this next week! They really are great people and I just cannot wait to see how they are when they feel Christ's love for them.
My thought for you all is on life. I had a good friend I used to always play basketball with, his name was Jake. He worked at San Juan College and every time I went there, he was there. He taught me a lot, but one of the main things he taught me is "Win or learn."
You may not size up against the challenges that come your way, you may not be the best you can or should be, and you may not be able to always win - but when you don't win.. don't let yourself lose. Choose to learn. Ask yourself why you weren't able to win, figure out what you did wrong, and look for what you can improve. Then, become better.
Never lose. Win, or learn.
Carry on my friends and family members! I am who I am because of you wonderful people! I love you all.
Hurrah for Israel!
