Dear friends and family,I really enjoyed this week. Elder Gatto and I worked really hard and we had a great week! We managed to find new people and it was fun to teach. I really enjoyed it. Elder Gatto loves talking, busting jokes, and playing soccer. He also has a strong testimony and is just so excited to be here! It reminds me of the first weeks of my mission, and it gets me excited too! It really is fun to watch Elder Gatto get better at teaching the lessons, at talking with people in the streets, and at following the Spirit. Being a trainer is probably the best asignment I will have on the mission!
This week, the high light was teaching a group of teenagers that probably wanted to rob us. We were passing by and they came up to us and started talking to us. At first, they acted interested and we taught a lesson.. but then they started asking us where we get our money, where we live, how we pay our rent, and other things like that. We smoothly talked our way out of the situation, answered their questions, made them laugh, and then made them relaxed. We haven't seen them for a couple days now. I think they'll leave us alone. Or.. at least I hope so. ;)
My thought for you all is on testimony. In these days, when the world is so crazy and changes so fast, your testimonies cannot be strong enough. Here in my mission I have known so many members that know the church is true, that have seen miracles, and that know that God will help them if they seek Him. But, they don't read God's words in the scriptures, they don't pray to God, and they don't go to church. God is there to do His part, but the members have let their testimonies die. They don't have the drive to act. While life is good, while you can easily see God's hand in your life, and while you are doing what you should - take the time to strengthen your testimony of the simple things you already know. Become steadfast, be immovable. I love you all! I pray for you!
Hurrah for Israel!
