Flesh Eating Bugs

Dear friends and family,I lack words to describe the week I had, lots of interesting things happened. Let's rewind, back to Monday. My companion, Elder Knuth, got an ingrown toe-nail. He had to get it removed and couldn't walk for a day. We studied in the pension, talked a lot, and practiced Spanish. It was fun getting to know him better. Elder Knuth is awesome! He has been through a lot, but keeps on going. He just has a great attitude about everything.
On Wednesday and Thursday, We worked hard. We found some new investigators and had two great days. It was fun and man the sun was hot! I never before felt like I was swimming while just walking around, but with 100 degrees and 100% humidity, I felt like I was in the deep end of a pool! It was an adventure!
On Friday, I had to go to Solano, another area in my district. I had to interview some people that wanted to be baptized and it was a great experience! The missionaries in my district are working hard, they are amazing. The people they found were well prepared for baptism!
On Saturday morning, we were in the apartment getting ready when we noticed that Elder Bartoski was itching his leg a lot. We looked at his leg and it was completely red, it had weird lines on it and lots of little red bumps. All bad signs. We called the nurse and she told us that he had parasites in his leg, and that it was highly contagious. Fun times.
So, we had to go to a pharmacy and buy some cream. Each one of us had to put it on, from the neck down. It burnt a little bit but luckily we are all bug free now! Haha, it was actually a pretty funny experience. Just imagine, to be here in Argentina with a Brazilean putting on anti-flesh-eating-bug cream.
My thought for you all is on faith. I was studying it a lot this week. As I was thinking about how to describe it, I thought about the fact that faith is only worth something when it is centered in God and Jesus Christ. Faith is a principle of power and action. It is to believe in something and change yourself because of that belief. When we believe in Jesus Christ, we exercise faith by trying to reach the goal of becoming like Him. Faith is to believe you can walk to heaven while remembering that only Christ's strength can carry you that far. I hope you can all have faith this week. Don't be passive! Act. Don't just say your beliefs, live them and show them. I love you all and I pray for you! Carry on!
Hurrah for Israel!

-Elder Keeley
