Taylor Shimai

Got Bombed by a Bird This Morning if you Know What I Mean on our run this morning I got hit by a not so pleasant present from an overhead bird...well, I hope that's not a sign for the coming week, haha. And yep, with that awkward moment of the week out of the way I'm going to talk about a few miracles :)

-The cutest girl came into church yesterday...BY HERSELF. She's new to the area and looking for a church to go to?? And figured she hadn't ever been to a Mormon one? So she came?? Wow I had a slight feeling of what it might be like to serve in a Chrisitian country. That's a normalish occurrence in other places right? Haha, I didn't quite know how to contain my excitement, or what to do exactly. Two slighty dazed missionaries pinching themselves (almost wanted to pinch her) to make sure we weren't daydreaming. Then she said she'll come back next week!! Ok. Umm YEAH PLEASE! Also excuse me while I jump around out of pure excitement--very unmissionary--like for a moment here!

- We called a referral who met the missionaries 2 years ago and recently came back in contact. She, out of the blue, asks us when church is and invites herself and asks where she can meet up before because she doesn't know where the chapel is. I had to ask Taylor Shimai to make sure I heard right. What is this?! People are starting to come out of the woodwork and I might possibly die of happiness!

Things on the Brain:

-I am constantly being humbled by everything I don't know. (i.e. Japanese...) I love that God gave us weaknesses to help us truly rely on Him. I know I am nowhere near perfect in so many things, yet somehow I was lucky enough to be trusted to teach His children. We all have that same responsibility. God works perfectly through imperfect people. He knows us better than we know ourselves and He will put us in positions to grow and help others do the same. Somewhat--relatable, 2 favorite quotes I was reminded of this week for your thinking pleasure...

1. "There is no comfort in the growth zone and no growth in the comfort zone."

2. “That which we persist in doing becomes easier to do. Not that the nature of the thing has changed, but our ability to do has increased!”

Persisting and growing. Easy to say, hard to do. Everyone has feelings of inadequacy "I can't" at times. If we let those feelings stop us, we hinder God's hand in performing miracles through us. If talking is uncomfortable, talk. Persist and grow. Testify with love and sincerity and the Lord will convey the message. Knowing that someone else is in control is liberating. HE KNOWS BETTER THAN YOU. He knows exactly what needs to happen and we get to trust in His plan and act accordingly.

Missionary Moments:

-The Lord truly answers prayers. So maybe be careful when asking for more patience...He will 100% give you experiences to help out in that regard :)

***Spiritual Health Tip: Pray for these kind of experiences, they do wonders for the soul***

1. Matching and waiting for the Elders after eating shibashiba
2. My favorite hula dancer Tusevljak Shimai killing it at Polynesian Night
3. The weird things you find in cabbage fields
4. Still a weird thing in a cabbage field PS: Taylor Shimai's favorite word is cabbages sooo naturally we jumped off our bikes to take a picture in front of one
5.District lunch for Burnham Choros birthday (back left)
6. Miracle Mai who walked into church and is now our bud:)

Slightly in shambles after realizing it's already June,
