Hello everyone!
That's right, it finally snowed!!! It's so so so cold, but the snow is beautiful :) Here is our contrast:
Friday:
Green and beautiful :) it could be 60 degrees! (it wasn't... it was 33...) Also there's Lake Erie! It sounds a lot more exciting than it looks... Mostly it's grayish and flat, it freaks me out that you can't see anything on the other side though...
Saturday:
Snow! We have more snow now :) Also this is a porch goose, they are an Amish thing that just became an Ohio thing. Lot's of people have these carved geese on their porches and it's pretty normal to see them all dressed up like this, but this was was the cutest I've seen so far :)
This week has been an adventure of tracting... it's basically the only thing we've done and it's cold.... Yesterday Sister Chance and I had on probably four layers, at least, on every part of our bodies... Except our faces, so they're a little frozen ;) It's now consistently below freezing, so that's a party, but the snow is beautiful :)
Yesterday was really cold, it was 20 or below all day and we'd tracted all afternoon and were not looking forward to doing it all night as well. But we got out there and followed the rules, praying for someone to let us in to teach them. We were caroling which is really helpful for people not hating us, but wasn't really getting anyone interested. We finally came to this one house and you could tell they were Jewish. They had the little door post thing (someone please get me a name for that...) and no Christmas decorations. So we decided to go the service approach rather than caroling. This grumpy old lady opened the door and we told her we were offering service, so she says "do you know anything about mouse traps?" Well now we do ;) We helped her set up six mouse traps around her kitchen and just talked to her. Her name is Norma Fredrichsen and she is super cool :) She asked if we could come over for dinner because "I only had sons and they only had sons, and I've always wanted a daughter!" So we made a new friend :) Missionary work is great, you meet so many great people and make so many friends.
This is a great place to be, I love the people and I love the work! I hope you're all having a Merry Christmas and having fun lighting the world! I love you all and Jesus loves you even more! I hope this season you can all remember your Savior and the love he has for each of you :) Merry Christmas!
