Hey everyone! Hope your weeks were awesome, because ours was!!
This week we've been doing service for José and his mom, helping them fill their home with sand. (they live on a hill and every torrential rain storm we have leaves huge holes and junk in their home). So we would climb down from their house to the river, fill pails (not buckets, little toy pails because they didn't have anything) full of sand and carry them back up the hill and fill in the holes. It was really awesome! Didn't realize how much we missed physical labor until we put on pants and started out with the shovels. It gave us the extra energy we needed, helped her out a ton and we made new friends!
I really love giving service and it was great to see how grateful she was! This week I've been studying in Moroni - I don't think I ever really realized how depressing it is! It's so sad to think of everything this beloved profet went through, but one thing I noticed about what he writes-every few verses, after writing something really really sad, he starts talking about Christ, and the hope, and blessings and happiness that can ONLY be found in Him.
And I've really seen that here. There is no other source of happinness in their world. Only through Him. And that's all the time I've got, but love you all and hope you have a great week!
