I'm a lot better at short inspirational messages than I am at reporting back at stuff.
This week was Stake Conference. We had the opportunity to hear from Elder Christopherson. He gave a brief little message emphasizing the Atonement. It was a cool experience. In the adult session he said the church was preparing for something big and that it was coming fast. It was kinda cool. I have a training this week with Craig Cardon from the 70, that's gonna be cool too. The choir there was amazing. There must have been over 200 members in it. It was one of the coolest things I've ever heard.
Right after conference we went to a house of someone we were referred to. He is so open and willing to accept what the spirit is teaching. Earlier in the week, I was at a member's house for dinner and they were such an open family. It didn't feel like I was over there as a missionary, it felt like I was there as one of their children. It usually works out that we share a message with them, but i feel like every time we go over there they teach us.
Earlier we were teaching this mentally challenged lady with the senior missionaries in our ward. Before we left it was suggested that we dedicate her apartment as a place of safety and comfort. From what I could tell, she really appreciated it.
One of the elders in my mission is from Virginia. Uncle Corey and Aunt Courtney were his seminary teachers. We met at a zone conference. He has some pretty interesting stories about Courtney that I never knew ;)
This week at zone training we were given a paper and were asked what we want to become by the end of our missions. After a couple days of thinking about it the goal, I came up with was I wanted to prepare to be a father. How did your mission prepare you to be a father?
miss you all,
Elder Allen
